RioZ Team session in preparation for the upcoming ACA race in Prescott. The athletes are in good form. Fine tuning team and individual tactics, as well as, pre-race regimen is an important facet of race strategy. Their focus and discipline is inspiring which is a great attribute of their hard work.

Congrats to RioZ team riders on their performances this past weekend at the first ACA MTB race in Flagstaff, AZ. In full support of their coaching staff and, most importantly their parents who made the weekend of racing a great success. Sky Island, Buena, and Tombstone were represented remarkably and their commitment and drive goes without saying. We are very proud of this group for their dedication to execute their coaching plan in preparation for their high school mountinbiking race season. Next up Prescott on September 21, 2024.

RioZ Team session in the Mules in preparation for the upcoming ACA season. Over 3000 ft of elevation gain and a super techy descend to Old Town. A great turnout, yet we were missing a few riders due to illness and/or injury. Several max efforts by the athletes while digging deep, very inspiring. The vibe was great, first time for most on the Ridge Trail, parent coaches also joined in on the adventure. The future for these athletes is looking good, can't wait to see them in action in Flagstaff in a couple of weeks. Kudos to Andrew Stearns and Peter Stearns for signing up to race the Zia Rides GloriDays race in Glorieta, NM over the Labor Day weekend. The race will commence at 8K, coach Shannon will also be racing in the event.

24 Hours of Enchanted Forest in the Zuni Mountains, NM. Nathan Gluck, Andrew Stearns, Aidan Taylor, and Chase Nichols teamed up in a stellar performance to take the top step. The team turned consistent laps around the clock with the support of their parents who provided them with nutrition and moral support during the most challenging moments of the race. Parents assisted in making sure they were fed, in recovery mode, motivated and ready to start their next lap effort, all while staying up around the clock. But the highlight of the entire event was witnessing the camaraderie, bond and enjoyment of spending time together.

Some RioZ action this past weekend in Flagstaff. The RioZ athletes finished in 8th, 4th and 1st place in their respective race categories. Congrats to Aidan Taylor taking the top step in his race and with the support of his family and friends. These aspiring athletes have demonstrated a full commitment to their coaching plan, involving nutrition, CORE and weight training, and dedicating time to train smart and hard with efficiency. It will be exciting to see their development in the next several months as they prepare for their Arizona Cycling Association High School Season.

RioZ team members have been competing in numerous races and events throughout the year, their past accomplishments will be forthcoming in future posts.
