Ellen Seagraves Chic Florals Beautiful floral design for the Washington, metro area. I am a native Washingtonian who began creating floral designs over 20 years ago.

I have a degree in weaving and textile design and those techniques influence my floral work in many ways. I have studied with some of the great American and international floral designers and delight in all aspects of floral design from ikebana to European and American design. Local flowers are becoming a force in floral design and I embrace this movement as much as I delight in the variety of fl

owers that come to us from all over the world. I am both AIFD and EMC certified and a member of Chapel Designers and the Slow Flowers Movement. I am so lucky to be in this business!

I made this little piece for the Pleasant Hills Farm Holiday House tour last weekend. I only had time to make this one piece but was thrilled to be part of the experience in the most interesting house.

We went mushrooming on the Oregon coast and met a lady with a basketful. We just looked since we know little to nothing about mushrooms! But she was Russian and had been mushrooming her whole life!

I had the most inspirational day yesterday visiting the amazing Françoise Weeks at her studio in Portland Oregon in the morning and then artist and flower farmer Ann Munson, at her farm and studio in West Linn Oregon. I came away with so many ideas about my own work and full of admiration for both of them.
