Our main 2024 season draws to a close!

It has been a fantastic year for Fox & Edwards Events supporting our wonderful partner steam railways all around the country. We thought we would share some of our favourite highlights.

We've enjoyed busy family days at several of our partner railways with some friendly famous characters including Bluey and her sister Bingo, Peppa Pig, Peter Rabbit and Paddington. In addition, we've launched our popular Extinct Express dinosaur themed family fun event.

We have been in a position to support some of our railways by purchasing rolling stock to aid with their operations. At the start of the year, our Mark 1 bar coach moved to the WyvernRail plc - The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in Derbyshire and recently we have purchased a Mark 1 compartment carriage to aid operations at Gwili Steam Railway in South Wales.

We've been able to expand to support more railways than ever with us operating our first trains north of the border in Scotland last month, at Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. We're really looking to expanding to a full programme there next year! Thanks also to Tanfield Railway, Bluebell Railway and the Watercress Line where we debuted journeys with fish and chips this year and to Swanage Railway for our continued partnership.

To support the growing operation, we've welcomed on board several new team members including Leigh, our Operations Manager who joined in the summer. We’ve been supported by our new enquiries support team members Kate and Clare. Our Event Coordinators team has also expanded to welcome all of our lovely visitors including Jacqui, Andrea, Alan, Trish, Izzy, Brendan, Samantha, Beth and Robin to name a few.

We were in a fortunate position to be able to sponsor a categorHeritage Railway Associationay Association awards, speak at the November conference and we're looking forward to be supporting the House of Lords Reception next week.

The Snowman™ and The Snowdog are coming to the East Midlands! They are joining us at Great Central Railway between Christmas and New Year on December 29th and 30th.

The Snowman and The Snowdog will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day for lots of fun.

There will be steam trains and lots more. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Fox & Edwards Events - Investing in Visitor Experience - Our Second MK1! 🛤️

We’re delighted to be investing in improving the offer for visitors at heritage railways we work with - in addition to the hundreds of thousands of pounds of bookings we make with them annually.

We’ve just purchased our second British Railways MK1 from the 1950s - a SK (a coach with private compartments).

It’ll be headed to Gwili Railway after some internal restoration works to make it a superb vehicle for visitors to enjoy. It has armrests throughout (unlike some others of its type) and will support both our operations and the railway’s wider calendar.

When we say we’re committed to the heritage railway movement, we mean it. We’re a business grounded in support for our industrial heritage and that stands ready to help in the survival of / thriving of our sector.

Journeys 501 Miles Apart - Fox & Edwards Events Debuts in Scotland 🚂🛤️

We’re delighted to have made our debut in Scotland today running steam train journeys with fish and chips on the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. Julie, Olly & Leigh were all here to help deliver this first day 😎

Fox & Edwards Events is proud to support heritage railways right across the UK. This weekend, we’ve had journeys in Sussex at the Bluebell Railway, Derbyshire at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Leicestershire at the Great Central Railway, Kent & East Sussex Railway and here in Central Scotland.

Our bookings and your visits make a very significant contribution to the sustainability of heritage lines and the amazing work they do to preserve our industrial past.

A really busy day for Fox & Edwards Events teams all around the UK today.

This family had a fantastic time celebrating a 70th birthday on board our Evening Steam Train & Curry journey at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway in Derbyshire. We’re surprised they had room for cupcakes as birthday cake afterwards!

We also had journeys going on in Leicestershire at the Great Central Railway, in Kent at the Kent & East Sussex Railway and in Sussex at the Bluebell Railway. Meanwhile, our team is preparing for our first ever journeys in Scotland tomorrow.
