What a night for Tongues Speak #openmicnight on 1.25.23. Allah is merciful for another trip around the sun. Celebrated my birthday early that night. Still super shocked and humbled about being awarded my own artist trading cards, from @positivity_pays. Like ..I'm still at an awh. Thank you to all that was able to come through, and to those in spirit. The tribe came! But of course I performed #sendittothedj 😜. And go figure I almost canceled the open mic. Been a little down lately. Well...a lot down.
What a lot of people don't know is that it's been tough for me since my mother died. Our birthday was a week a part. We always celebrated together. Her January 24th. Me January 30th. Tongues Speak was for her that night. She got to see it start.
I don't do this for clout. I do this because I do. I'm an artist and respect my fellow peers or artists. I only pray that I'm able to elevate all of us. That's why it's always LCC (Love Community and Consciousness). I can't believe it. Tongues Speak gas been running since 2017. Wow! #mashaallah
