We were the first among our friends to get married, so we had no frame of reference on how to plan a wedding and what weddings should be like. Our wedding was also the very first wedding I planned, and the day flew by so quickly. We are celebrating six beautiful years this month!

Creating intentional pockets of quality time through the day for each of our couples is a big priority for us: to allow time to FEEL all the emotions and to soak in precious moments together as newlyweds. ❤️

Growing up, public speaking was the most intimidating for me. I was always silently rehearsing the words moments leading up to it while simultaneously distracted by the possibility of embarrassing myself. Being in front of an audience didn’t come easy to me, but overtime, the more I practiced, the better I got at it.

Even though I still feel flutters in my stomach and still internally rehearse the words, I’ve become more confident with sharing my stories with others.

Confidence in anything comes from a great deal of practice, over and over and over again. This is true for marriage, for being a wedding planner, a mom, applicable for everything.

Whether there’s something you’re working on or if you’re starting something brand new, setting your heart on progress, big or small, rather than the result is so important. Sometimes, we get wrapped up in wanting to reach the destination quickly that we overlook the blessing that is the journey. 💕

P, being an Ennegram 5, is very organized in his mind and can function in any space. On the other hand, I thrive best in a clean and organized environment that is personalized and intimate.

Most of our days are filled with quiet moments. Nowadays, it’s sitting next to each other while watching home renovation shows. We lean towards cooking competitions and home renovation shows because we love seeing the thought process and approach and seeing the transformation of a dish, a house, and a team!

I personally love these types of shows because similar to planning a wedding, I love seeing someone’s vision and concept transformed into a breathtaking and tangible experience 💕

Thrilled to be back in Houston after a full month of traveling in May!

The scorching summer heat is quickly approaching, and although summers are slower for outdoor Houston weddings, we are excited for all the wonderful things happening in our corner including bringing Solarium Studio’s branding shoot to life next week, creating refreshing designs for our full planning and design couples, and having lots of quality time with incredibly sweet couples and friends!

Happy Summer! My favorite way to spend 100+ degree summers in Houston: admire the sunshine and beauty of nature while sitting inside with plenty of AC and a fruity cocktail/iced vanilla latte in hand OR travel somewhere with cooler weather. 🥵 We are going to start planning our travels for Fall 2024 soon! Can’t wait 😊

Upon leaving for the night, Diana’s parents gave me a hug and said they would like to see me again. This may seem like a simple gesture, but to me, it means the world.

Our hearts forever delight in serving our couples well and in making sure family members are loved through the day.

Love in marriage is different than the initial stages of courtship and dating. It’s deeper.

On our trip, my mom asked about my preferences for something, and P immediately responded (correctly) before I even had time to think about my answer. That moment, I looked over at him and thought, “Wow, how amazing is it that I’m married to someone who knows me so deeply.”

In marriage, even the most simple moments can truly be evidence of our love for one another.

2018 - fun snapshots from my bridal shower questionnaire about P. I first answered the question before my maid of honor shared what he wrote.

Percentage: his way of indicating how likely he thinks I’ll get the answer right along with how he thinks I’ll answer.

A few spot-on answers:

When the groom was little, what did he want to be when he grew up? (10%)
Garbageman. I wanted to buy 2 garbage trucks. One for me and one for my dad, and we’d drive around together.

What is the groom’s favorite dessert? (30% chance she guesses ice cream)
I don’t really eat dessert. I bet she’ll say, “He doesn’t really eat dessert. I don’t know, hmmm, maybe ice cream.”

What is the groom’s favorite movie? (100% she says Captain America)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. She’ll most likely guess a Marvel movie, like Captain America, and she won’t be able to say which Captain America, she’ll just say, “I don’t know...Captain America?”

Immensely thankful for P because traveling with two littles, mom, and aunt requires a lot of patience and grace, and we were such a great team even when things got stressful.

An intentionally-designed space will instantaneously elevate your experience and your guests’ experience very much like walking into a top-tier restaurant or resort.

Creating an impactful design will always start with quality - the quality of the materials and the quality of the service all work in tandem to contribute to the quality of the final design and the overall experience.
