During the design process, I’ll say this a lot: “I have a new idea. It doesn’t exist yet, but it’s a combination of all of these ideas.”

When designing, I find inspiration in the little details and blending them together to create a refreshing and new perspective.

When communicating, I always share a collection of visuals and sketches, highlighting key features to bring this vision to life. We love the process of turning little sparks of inspiration into something tangible that can be experienced. ✨

Wedding design is much more than just choosing colors that go together; it’s the wedding gown, the accessories, interior design of the spaces to get ready in and of the spaces that guests will be welcomed into, exterior architecture, the flow from one part of the day to another, the experiences built into a wedding weekend are all important elements that we consider. We find joy in being the trusted creative partner for each of our couples to create something that truly speak to who they are.

Last year, we had the joy of designing our editorial of the year at The 1874 Guest House, with Caroline bringing her breathtaking floral designs to life and Monica capturing every beautiful detail through her lens. 2024 was about stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things even if the unknown seemed intimidating.

Being an introvert, I personally love a sense of familiarity, whether it’s the people I spend quality time with, the places I visit, or engaging in activities where I know what to expect, but last year was about adding a dash of courage to try something different. So much beauty has come from that, and we can’t wait to share all the wonderful things with you. 💕

As I revisit these photos, I found myself reflecting on the quiet, transformative power of touch in a relationship. In the beginning, it’s the fleeting brush of arms, full of anticipation and nervousness.

Over time, that touch softens - becoming a gentle exchange in how each person learns to communicate, a way to offer reassurance, comfort, and warmth, all without words.

My source of inspiration: poetry, interior design, experiences, locations, fashion, words, paintings.

I came across this poem last night that I loved.. perfect for the beautiful gold detailing on this breathtaking gown 💛

“I looked up the word ‘yellow’ the other day.

I found so many shades of yellow that they had been distinguished by words like
gold
honey
daffodil.

I found words like fire and sand and champagne and lemon and sunbeam and I even found a song.

Now imagine someone telling yellow that it’s ‘just yellow’.

When yellow is a sunbeam and a daffodil and fire.
When yellow is a song.

Without yellow, we couldn’t make orange and we couldn’t create green and our world would be far less colourful because of it.

Yellow’s true colours are not limited to one thing.
And neither are yours.

Some days you are dark and fiery and intense.

Some days you are rich and bright and vibrant.

Some days you are buttercups and dandelions and some days you are champagne and a song.

And without you, someone’s life would be far less bright and far less beautiful.

You are you as
yellow is yellow.

And the world needs you.

From taking long walks around the lake (despite being eaten by mosquitos in Texas) to laughing for hours, Kelly and Grant’s relationship blossomed during the quieter moments when everything in the world came to a halt in 2020.

On their first date, Grant asked Kelly to take pictures of him at Rice Box, and it turned into hours of conversation that made them realize how similar they were, especially their shared values and sense of humor.

Grant admires Kelly’s empathy, her ability to see the bright side in every situation, and the way she’s always honest and candid in her advice.

2 more weeks before we celebrate these lovelies at - we can’t wait!!

Caroline from and I met the year she moved to Texas (special thank you to ), and I continue to be in awe of her creativity with each wedding and event together.

The beauty of collaboration is giving vendors in their areas of expertise our complete trust and lots of creative freedom - a big priority in the way we connect with vendors and couples.

With our 1874 Guest House editorial, I first asked Caroline if there was a color palette that she really wanted to work with. After she shared the floral inspiration, we created a design around that palette. The result - BREATHTAKING, always. ✨

My love language: a beautifully set table, layering carefully curated patterns and textures.

Our Dior plates provided the perfect contrast and pop of color while the intricate lace design of the Arte Italica plates provided a stunning textured base for the details on the Blue Asiatic Pheasants plates to peek through.

Monica and I spent weeks reviewing plate and napkin designs to make sure the colors and textures were not overpowering but rather complemented each other and the other details on the table. From first trying to incorporate various colors in the palette, we eventually fell in love with these plates and decided to keep things classic with three of the six colors to create a beautiful and intimate table moment.

Sunny days. Blue skies. The weather has been absolutely perfect. It’s rare to have beautiful temperatures since Texas is usually scorching hot and humid most of the year.

The calming blue skies instantly bring me back to this lovely day at the start of summer, a day adorned with the loveliest blue details that Natalie thoughtfully chose. 🩵
