October is here, which means it’s LGBTQIA+ History Month!

This month, join us for the International Pronouns Day proclamation on October 15th, our annual Halloween Drag Show at Bark Social on October 25th, and more!

From the beginning of history, our community has been fighting for more than just the right to exist. It’s been 55 years since the Stonewall Riots in 1969, 34 years since the World Health Organization removed homosexuality’s classification as a mental illness in 1990, and it’s been almost a decade since the Supreme Court decision Obergefell vs. Hodges of 2015, which granted same-sex couples the right to marry.

We have come a long way, and the impact of those that have come before us is beyond measurement. QTBIPOC have made lasting contributions to art, science, politics, literature, music, and many more aspects of life. We honor people like Angela Davis, James Baldwin, Alicia Garza, Alan Turing, Audre Lorde, RuPaul, Lady Gaga, Cher, Freddy Mercury, Alvin Ailey and so many more.
