Lovely to be a guest at the Japanese Tea Ceremony at Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens Tramore yesterday. Not permitted to photograph the actual ceremony which is nice because it's about the experience, not the recording of it. Thanks so much to Michael Richardson and Janet Carey for the invitation.

Love and loss
Many people know that the singer Nick Cave lost one of his twin boys in 2015. When asked by one person how he managed his grief he gave a beautiful response. I've included a brief extract of that response here -

I feel the presence of my son,
all around,
but he may not be there.
I hear him talk to me, parent me, guide me,
though he may not be there.
He visits Susie in her sleep regularly, speaks to her,
comforts her,
but he may not be there ...

Great to be a member of the Irish Ethical Celebrants Society - a recent development are these beautiful Milestones Ceremonies:

Stepping Stones Ceremony - for children who are not taking part in First Communion.

Coming of Age Ceremony - for young adults who are not taking part in Confirmation.
