Albina JAZZ Festival The Albina Jazz Festival will help preserve the historic roots of Jazz Music in Albina Neighborhood The Albina Jazz Festival is no longer in business.

Between 1957-1972, close to 2000 people - the majority being African Americans - lost their homes, their businesses, and their neighborhood called Albina, due to construction of the I-5 Freeway, Memorial Coliseum, and expansion plans of Emanuel Hospital. Historic Jazz Clubs were also torn down in the bulldozer’s path. The Albina Jazz Festival took place in August 2017 and 2018 in North Portland, O

regon. Those events helped preserve the historic roots of Jazz Music in Albina Neighborhood and paid tribute to the early Jazz clubs on Williams Avenue, THE BIRTHPLACE OF PORTLAND'S MODERN JAZZ.
