Ordinarily, you want to keep your floral arrangements low so you don’t block conversation with the other side of the table however high arrangements add aesthetic drama (and if you choose only high arrangements can leave more space on the table for family style dining). The key is to choose transparent or slim vessels/flower stands.
For this wedding, we used both low compote arrangements and tall vase arrangements using clear tapered vessels, allowing conversation to flow while retaining the moody drama of the brief.

Regardless of the style of transportation you choose, make sure you call several vendors for quotes, view the vehicles in person and draw up a transport plan (including who travels in which vehicles and the times the vehicles will be needed), to make sure everyone gets where they need to be in time.

Also, why not pay a little extra for exclusive use, to ensure that vehicles aren’t servicing additional events on the same day. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you communicate transport options with your guests and bridal party clearly.

Transport information should be included on the details cases in your invitation suite and/or on your wedding website.

Your guests will generally consume seven drinks per person. There are exceptions of course, some will drink more than others and some won't partake at all.

This table breaks down quantities by beverage type and is based on a wedding of 100 guests (including the two of you, and your bridal party).

If you have heavy drinkers in the mix, increase the quantities by 25%. If you have more than 100 guests, increase the quantities as needed, in keeping with the rule of seven standard drinks per person.

Don’t be afraid of embracing maximalism in your centrepieces. While simple and elegant is the norm and is very beautiful, maximal centrepieces make a dramatic statement, especially for smaller guest numbers. At this wedding, the room was very large so we closed it in and created spaces with dramatic red fabric draping and filled the centre of several long (joined) banquet tables to create a long, lush centrepiece of flowers, foliage and antique brass elements.

While weddings are certainly the place for a wild abundance of flowers, sometimes, scaling back to greenery with neutral and metallic touches can make for an even more opulent setting to say I do.
Additionally, foliage is inexpensive so if you’re on a budget or you simply want that feeling of abundance, you really can’t go wrong.

When you don’t have a sweet tooth, a tiered cheese cake (or tiered cheese wheels to be specific), can make a dramatic savoury statement.
They require minimal decoration and you can select cheeses by flavour or even colour tone if you aren’t fussed about specific cheeses.

Serenity before the ceremony. You’d never guess that the ceremony had to be moved indoors due to high winds a few hours earlier, or even that just five minutes before the guests walked in, a member of the bridal party walked through those doors (even with the do not open sign) blowing the rose petals, greenery and the marriage license clear across the room.
