Round 5 of the Indikart+ Championship at Hooton Park is on June 11th with FIA approved Bentley/Mobile 1 race suit to the winner. No clash with any of the major championships so hope our 866 followers of this page that have a Micromax will turn up!!!

Seems to be a LOT of interest and new followers of this page... I have been asked about organising a Micromax UK series again next season (based at club championship rounds again) but am a bit ambivalent about it... Again, would be clubs organising each event with us filming all heats and final and coordinating the points, but this time for TV broadcast as opposed to YouTube only... So... a TV show in which the drivers entering were in every race filmed, three heats and the final.

If I were to do it, and assuming we would avoid closing with other championships, who would be interested that would still be in the class, or coming into the class next season? I may not be able to do it if other things pan out I am currently working on, but just interested to know, as the interest in the page has risen quite astonishingly in the past month or so.

Micromax UK race suit will be going to the winners of the April and June Indikart+ meetings at Hooton Park... (winner in April cannot win another suit in June tho.... want to share the love around) who's coming? Heats and final livestreamed, and if we get 10 or more the final may be edited into the TV show.

The end of season review books are being sent out today to everyone who competed in every round and those who have ordered a copy/extra copy. I have a few left for anyone that wants one. Can be ordered via the tdi-media website. Not cheao but mainly due to the small number of copies ordered and the time it took to write. Nice memento. Hopefully will get them before Xmas.

The Micromax UK Season Review Book is off to the printer Thursday for delivery before Xmas. Free copies to everyone who did every round (Corking, Armstrong, Stanley and Browne). If anyone else wants a copy, or extra copies for grandparents etc. I need to know before I have them printed as I will only have printed as many as I need. With only a small number being printed the cost per copy is £19.99. You can order copies via the tdi-media online store now. Will be going to the printer on Thursday, so please order before then to ensure we have enough copies to satisfy the demand if you want to order one or order extra copies for family members.

TDi Media has been offered broadcast TV slots on Free Sports HD and the new Sporty Stuff HD channels for the Micromax UK championship in 2022.

It would involve us filming every heat and final throughout the entire series, with drivers racing featured in every part. As such, it would be a UNIQUE karting programme ever seen on TV, featuring a single class only and the same drivers in every race. Once broadcast, the edited races would be uploaded to our YouTube channel as usual.

In order for us to proceed with this as a platform for the series, we would need to see at least 24 drivers registered for the series this year committing to race and secure sponsorship funding for the championship. Registration cost has been reduced from £150 to just £20 for the first 24 drivers to register for next season (free to drivers who took part in 2021).

We are planning on running 6 or 7 rounds (to be confirmed) at circuits north and south (to be decided once other championship dates are known to avoid clashes). If you are interested in Micromax in 2022, then please complete the form expressing your interest at this stage on the Micromax UK page via the tdi-media website (https://www.tdi-media.com/micromaxuk) You can register via the online store but at this stage we need to see if there is enough interest to broadcast the series on TV, so the form on the Micromax UK page is a way to register your intent without any cost. We had 14 drivers for the final round at Hooton Park a few weeks ago and there are a lot more than 24 with their own equioment we know of already.

There would only be a maximum of 32 drivers allowed at each round, so if you think this is for you, fill in the form now so we have your contact details and we will keep you up to date with our plans in the near future.

We are planning on organising an initial Winter Cup event before the main season starts. The cost per round is £175, with the first and last two rounds having to be paid at the start of the season (as is common with other championships). To keep costs low, only two sets of new tyres will be allowed to be used during the season. The weight limit for 2022 will be 112kg.

Each round will be held at an IKR club meeting, being managed and controlled by the local officials, as has been the case this year, with our own scrutineering in place at each round.

For this to be viable, it needs the support of at least 24 drivers registered before the end of the year. If we do not get the support, then we will consider running without broadcast coverage. It is up to you guys.

Am sending all cheques for 2021 championship prize money for 4th to 6th (Charlotte Stanley £500, Aston Browne £250 and Bradan Boyd £250)... in the post today. JAG waiting for new Micromax engines to be delivered and will be sent or can be collected once received. All made out to parents' names, but obvs you will be giving it all to the kids...!

Update on end of season awards and prizes.... Waiting for end of Season Trophies for the Top 3 in the championship to be delivered. Championship winners Race suit on order being delivered to Seb directly.... JAG are waiting for engine stock to be delivered as prizes for top 3. Will either send them out by courier or collect from Hooton Park.

Not many FREE registrations for next year received as yet from this year's drivers. Simply send me an email to confirm your interest. Registration for new drivers is reduced from £150 to £20 until the end of the year and available via the TDi Media website's online store.

I would like to thank everyone for your support in 2021, and make a quick mention for Rory Armstrong, who travels from Northern Ireland to Stranraer pretty much every other weekend, then across country to the circuits and back to Stranraer for the ferry trip home . As someone who lost a national championship in 2005 at the final round due to mechanical issues all day, I felt his pain on Sunday. Losing the place on the last lap that decided the championship was a tough one, but his loss was Seb's gain, and Seb has also driven brilliantly all season and fully deserved the win.

The book will be out soon. Another innovation never done before for any championship, although taking into account the time it has taken me to write it, not sure that's going to be repeated in 2022!

Even the dogs were interested in the MiRider One folding e-bike last weekend at Hooton Park for the first time. Any parents that want to try it next time we are out somewhere just come and ask. It is absolutely amazing piece of kit that helps me get around with my dodgy knees and hips... Has an information screen in colour to set 5 power levels and shows mph, odometer, battery level etc. Half a turn on the pedal and the motor kicks in. Set the power level to 2 around the paddock but you can press the thumb button to increase it to level 5 when required, expecially when out on track setting up cameras in the morning, or collecting them after racing has finished. Level 5 is 15.5mph.

Must be 14 years of age to use an E-bike on the road in the UK

The championship is decided on the very last lap of the season!… but watch each heat and then the final to understand the full dynamics of how it all happened.

After a meeting with the drivers at the final round, they are keen for us to continue with the filming of every heat and final in 2022, and we will be announcing the dates and venues for 2022 once we know other championship dates so we do not clash. There will be only two sets of tyres for the season allowed next year, with the weight limit for the class at 112kg.

If you are interested in Micromax UK for 2022, we will be holding at least one test day at Hooton Park in the next few months, with Warden Law also supplying karts and engines you can test there. I want to try and include some tracks in the south for 2022, so get in touch if you are a circuit interested in hosting a round at any IKR club event you organise.

I am considering adding an additional class to the championship, filming all heats and finals of that as well as Micromax. The obvious choice would be Minimax, but I would need to be convinced we would have enough interest to do it. The race edits are being uploaded now but the internet is crawling, so will go live tomorrow, as it will be gone midnight by the time they have uploaded and I am out in an hour or so. Will make them live at around 4pm so the kids have something to look forward to after school tomorrow... What a treat in store... Some fantastic, close racing all weekend, with the final a four-driver shootout with it all on the line going into the final tour. Jake Sanson here this afternoon for comms.... The final round of the Micromax UK 2021 Championship saw 14 drivers taking part at Hooton Park, and what a final round! The championship was decided on the last lap of the final with just 350 metres or so to go, with a decisive overtake losing Rory Armstrong his 2nd place on track and championship lead, dropping him from a point in front of Seb Corking to 3 points behind as the drivers crossed the line. It proved to be one of the best races of the season with positions and championship lead swapping as the race went on, and was a great advert for the class. Congrats to Seb and commiserations to Rory, who made the trip from Northern Ireland for every round during the season. The championship points are on the TDi Media website now, and the race edits are already being worked on. An announcement will be made about 2022 shortly, but after the meeting Saturday evening with the drivers, it appears there is the desire to continue with the filming of every heat and final by TDi Media, so I have decided to continue our involvement with the class. Dates and venues will be decided once other championships announce (inc. those we are filming), in order not to clash with our filming commitments and competing events, allowing everyone to race in Micromax wherever they want to. Registration fees for those that registered for the championship this year will be free in 2022, with a £20 nominal fee otherwise for anyone new to the class or who did not register this year, making it an economical route to entry. It was mentioned that we should charge entry fees in advance for the opening and final rounds in order to ensure a commitment for the year (as is common elsewhere), and by not charging a £150 registration fee this will reduce the overall cost of competing in any case. Final decisions yet to be made.

Thankyou to everyone who supported the series in 2021, and I look forward to bigger and better things in 2022. The book supporting the series will be finished in the next few weeks and then be off to the printers for publishing. Everyone that did every round will receive a free copy, and I will take orders for additional copies once I can ascertain the final print costs inc. my time for writing it.

14 Micromax here at Hooton Park today... One more than were at Whilton Mill for the World Finals qualifier last month which bodes well for those interested in the class for next season. Meeting at 5.15pm to discuss plans moving forward.

Final round at Hooton Park this weekend is looking like a grid of 12 based on entries and those that have confirmed they will be racing, so should be a great final round to close the season. Just updated the Micromax UK championship points after the weekend. The Micromax UK championship will go to the final round with all to play for. 1st and 2nd separated by 8pts, 3rd and 4th separated by 8pts, 4th and 5th separated by 11pts.

Darren Beavers at BKC has informed me they will be running Micromax as a class within the GYG event themselves, so the Dragon Masters Micromax special we had agreed with him to run as part of that event, filming all the finals will not now take place. I will be refunding anyone who has entered and cancelling the order for one-off bespoke trophies tomorrow, assuming I can still do that.
