FREE AGENTS: YOUR TRANSFERMARKT LINK COULD BE YOUR WORSE ENEMY!
Too many free agents (and some FIFA Football Agents) think a TransferMarkt link and a five-minute YouTube video are enough to land a club. Sorry, but it's not.
Yet, their TransferMarkt profile is often incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Many players tell me that it hasn't been updated. So why use it as your main selling point? It baffles me.
Free agents must take responsibility for their careers. A weak profile and poor promotion will hold you back. Accurate stats, quality video, and a complete player profile are essential. Many players don't find a new club simply because they are not prepared.
There is no excuse...
Clubs have high standards and ask tough questions. Thousands of free agents are fighting for limited spots, and the competition is ruthless. To get noticed, you must stand out both on and off the pitch.
An agent cannot always change your situation. Your playing history, time out of the game, and contract value all matter. You must prove you belong at the next level. If your profile, data, and video are not convincing, clubs will move on in a hearbeat.
I know how difficult this is for players. I also see agents and scouts struggle with players who are simply not ready and not commissionable.
