Sean has photographed professional models in many African countries, the USA, UK and Australia. During the daylight hours I work feverishly as a photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I photograph people as often as I can. Faces intrigue and inspire me. Show me an engaging or intriguing face and I will go to great lengths to photograph that individual. I am based in Johannesburg, South
Africa. More often than not, I work out of my studio in Johannesburg – or if the need arises, out of other professional studios that meet the needs of the shoot. An outdoor location shoot of individuals or groups is challenging, but under the right conditions and with professional equipment, often produces superb photographs. Most of my people photography is currently studio-based. and includes any type of portraiture, including individuals, couples and families. Much of my studio work includes developing model portfolios, fashion and glamour photography. I am fortunately not entirely studio-bound. I am sometimes commissioned to shoot events and corporate work, which always provides a welcome change of scenery! This often includes still photography as well as video capture. My studio is well equipped with high-end professional mobile equipment to make these location shoots a pleasure. I particularly enjoy working with models. This is a fascinating time to live in South Africa. As Africa gradually rises to meet the challenge of assuming its rightful place in the world, many emerging models gravitate to Johannesburg from all over Africa. Every now-and-then, I get the opportunity to photograph a great or unique face. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing an aspirant photographic model succeeding! I particularly enjoy shooting to build model portfolios, capturing a range of images that express who the model really is. I have photographed professional and emerging models on location in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, the UK and the USA. I have photographed models from Australia, Malawi, the DRC and Nigeria in my local studio in Johannesburg. I regularly travel within Africa when commissions to photograph models present themselves. Nothing pleases me more! I am occasionally privileged to photograph models in the USA and UK. This is always invigorating - these opportunities provide a different perspective and very enjoyable change in dynamics. On rare occasions when my studio and commercial work permits, I manage to escape the city and venture into the African bush to photograph animals and birds in their natural surroundings. This is my quiet time. Most of my wildlife photography work is “close-up” or “tight” and shot with prime long lenses. I have photographed wildlife in South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
