Offering an underwater experience to adventurous couples visiting the Cook Islands, all started with this amazing guy, inspired by his love for the ocean we wanted to combine his passion and our collective desire to create memorable experiences for couples. Most couples who book our underwater experience are not advanced swimmers, but it hasn't deterred them in the slightest. Every single one of them has blown us away with their determination and efforts to make it work.

In the eyes of every child, their mother is nothing short of a queen, a figure who rules their world with love and grace. When Abby expressed her desire to capture herself wearing her mother's vintage Tahitian wedding dress, my mind immediately began searching for ways to honor her mother's memory through this special shoot. I envisioned a location that would not only serve as a beautiful backdrop but also evoke a deep sense of intimacy.

The Para O Tane Palace, a historic building in Avarua, constructed in the 1830s, seemed like the perfect choice. Its vintage architecture transported us back in time, to an era filled with grandeur and elegance. As I learned from my nana, being invited into the Avarua Palace was a true honor in the past, reserved only for those of high status. And now, here we were, granted the incredible opportunity to capture these sentimental photos within these very walls that undoubtedly held countless stories. The palace became more than just a location; it became a bridge connecting the past and the present.

I am incredibly grateful that we were given access to this precious piece of history. It is a privilege to be able to honor Abby's mother and the love she shared through this timeless setting.

I had the most amazing time photographing a art show the other night. If you're an art enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun and creative activity, I highly recommend checking out Bergman Art Gallery on Karangahape Road. It's the perfect spot to appreciate the talent and passion of both emerging and established Polynesian artists.

What if a water session were looked at as a deep and meaningful experience instead of just cool photos? This is how I imagine it:
-
She immersed her body in the cool depths of the ocean's embrace. With each stroke, her wedding dress billowed and swayed, a symphony of silk and saltwater. She surrendered to the oceans power, allowing the currents to guide her.
Her heart beat with a rhythm that matched the ebb and flow of the sea. As she floated weightlessly in its embrace, the constraints of the world above had dissolved, leaving her suspended in a realm of pure freedom.
She swam with grace, her body moving in harmony with the ocean's pulse. As she emerged from the water, her dress clinging to her like a second skin. She was ready to embark on a new chapter of her life. The ocean had gifted her with more than just a transformative experience. It had shown her the depths of her own strength and resilience, reminding her that she was capable of navigating what was to come.

You may believe that living life to the fullest is seeing every country in the world and quitting your job on a whim and falling recklessly in love, but it's really just knowing how to be where your feet are. It's learning how to take care of yourself, how to make a home within your own skin. It's learning how to build a simple life you are proud of. A life most fully lived is not always composed of the things that rock you awake, but those that slowly assure you it's okay to slow down. That you don't always have to prove yourself. That you don't need to fight forever, or constantly want more. That it's okay for things to be just as they are. Little by little, you will begin to see that life can only grow outward in proportion to how stable it is inward-that if the joy is not in the little things first, the big things won't fully find us. — Brianna Wiest.

A tip for your upcoming photoshoot:
For anyone out there who's about to have their photo taken! It's totally normal to feel a little nervous or self-conscious, but here's the thing: the more you're in your own head, the less present you'll be in the moment. Our advice is this: try to let go of any worries or insecurities, and trust your photographer. We’re here to make sure you look your best, and we’ll take care of any little details that need fixing. All you need to do is relax, be yourself, and enjoy the experience.

As I work on our website… I feel like I’ve been saying that for aaaages! I’m getting there. I'm reminded of our brand's identity and our passion for capturing unique and unforgettable moments for our clients. We are storytellers at heart, and we are constantly inspired by the beauty of the world around us.

One particular memory stands out - a photoshoot where our clients, Ali and Cam, climbed on top of the boiler to get some unique shots. It's moments like these that make me grateful for having worked with some pretty cool clients who are willing to go the extra mile for amazing photos.
