Max is working hard broadforking last year’s basil rows. Though we do not mechanically till, we do broadfork because we have compacted heavy clay soil. Broadforking loosens and aerates the soil without killing the norms and other micro-organisms. Still, as continue to add organic matter and improve our soil we hope to be able to disturb it less and less. But truth be told broadforking is pretty fun and a great work-out! #autismemployment #regenerativemovement #regenerativefarming
I don’t often post about Dave — but he is really amazing. Not only does he work a bazillion hard lawyer hours so that we have been able to make this farm for Max, but this morning he got up at dawn to mow down the weeds that have taken over our perennial field. These weeds were getting me down 🙁. And now they are gone! For now…. Max and I will mulch and move tarp to hopefully keep them at bay for the rest of the season. THANK YOU DAVE for making my Monday and everyday. #farmhusband #bushhogging #happymonday
Our greenhouse babies are nice and warm and cozy — hoping for the best for our field flowers out in the cold and wind 🤞. #passivesolargreenhouse #seedstarting #readytoplantflowers
