What an absolutely breathtaking Fall engagement season we had…both figuratively and literally. We crisscrossed New England, dipped into downtown Tampa, saw some amazing places, and met many wonderful people! We couldn’t be more eager to get this year’s wedding season started and create even more memories for ourselves and our couples!

And speaking of engagements…we know there’s a lot of you love birds out there that got engaged during the holidays! First off- a huge congrats of course! Secondly, we offer a complimentary engagement session with all of our photography wedding packages because it’s an excellent way to get to know you (and hopefully become good friends!) before we show up on your wedding day! 🤗

Here’s to everything this new year brings and to hoping to meet more of you so that we can see the places you hold dear to your heart and bring you into our little crew here at Mars and the Moon!

It feels impossible to us that we’re heading into 2025. Where the f**k is time even going?!

If we had to sum up 2024 in one word, it would be CONSISTENCY. We figured out a cohesive editing style shared between our photo and video, and stuck with it. We listened to what our clients love best about us, and went all-in on being OURSELVES. We started really pushing our couples to throw away tradition and start ENJOYING their day how THEY want to. In our 9 years of capturing weddings, 2024 was the first year we didn’t have imposter syndrome. It was the first year we actually believed we knew what we were doing, and went into wedding days feeling calm and collected. Those calm, collected, chill vibes rubbed off on our couples and helped to create calm, chill wedding days FILLED with laughter, fun, and plenty of time to hang out with guests.

To our 2024 couples, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for trusting us to capture such a momentous day. We don’t take that responsibility lightly at all, and sometimes we do get imposter syndrome wondering how some of y’all can find our professionalism through our quirky, goofy, absurd personalities...but you do! Because we are who we are, we’re real ass humans, and so are you! We can’t thank you enough. You have made our wildest dreams come true, and have allowed us to grow roots up north and call Maine our home.

To our 2025 (and even some 2026) couples, WE’RE SO FRIGGIN’ STOKED for what this year has in store! You filled up our fall schedule with some EPIC engagement sessions, and meeting so many of you got us SO EXCITED for what’s to come. We can not thank you enough for making the time to hang out with us, and opening up to show us a little bit of your goofy side.
WE 👏 CAN 👏 NOT 👏 WAIT 👏 FOR 👏 YOUR 👏 WEDDING.

So to wrap this up, we’re walking into 2025 filled with an insane amount of gratitude, and just a sprinkle of stress. Bonnie’s a little behind with video edits and is working hard behind-the-scenes to get caught up, but we can’t complain. Y’all have really...truly...helped us build a life we love. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

C+ J got engaged while on a getaway to Mystic, CT and when we heard their story we figured there was no place better for an engagement session than the place where it all went down! Of course having never been there ourselves, it also gave us a great excuse to make the drive down!

We had such a good time with these two and loved that we were able to incorporate the bench where the actual proposal had happened- it truly added a special touch to the shoot!

C + J got engaged in Mystic, CT during a getaway, and when we heard their story we thought there would be no better place to do their engagement session than the place where it all went down! (And of course it was also a great excuse for us to make the drive as well!)

From their traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony, to the intimate ceremony and reception at The Lace Factory, these two were full of smiles, tears, and an overwhelming amount of love from start to finish!

🥹 Moar little moments from Alexa + Tom’s day last weekend 🥹

That first pic...we were absolutely in love with this moment. IMMEDIATELY after they walked down the aisle, Alexa and Tom took 15 minutes to just BE with each other alone. They didn’t have to rush into family photos (got those done before the ceremony), they didn’t celebrate with their wedding party (they enjoyed 45 minutes of that during cocktail hour, and finished those photos before the ceremony). They just cuddled up with a glass of champagne and celebrated together. YEAH, we were in the room too but only because they asked us to be. We sat down in some chairs on the opposite side of the room, took a second to relax ourselves, and just quietly snapped a couple pics. We didn’t talk or pose them or fix her dress...we just let them be. That day was 100% Alexa and Tom.

My Story

Cinematography & Videography services located in the Tampa Bay, St.Petersburg Florida area for weddings, special occasions and business/commercial projects.

Born, raised, and still living life in the Tampa Bay area, I've grown up loving the sun, sand, and water all year 'round. I fell in love with film production in middle school and have been filming and editing ever since, but for some reason I went to college for Architecture. After about 2 years in that industry, I quit my job to pursue my true passion, and have fallen in love with capturing couples' stories through their Weddings and more.

​ Depending on which friends you talk to, they would tell you I'm brutally honest and sarcastic yet compassionate; Adventurous yet professional; "Bad ass" yet humble (quoted from Anna Coats of Marry Me Tampa Bay). On your Wedding day, I want it to feel like we're just hanging out. I hope your parents won't get offended if I curse (I tone it down that day, I promise). I work well with others and don't really understand that whole "photographer/videographer rivalry" thing. In my free time you can find me obsessing over my cat and facebook stalking the single groomsmen from the previous weekend. I would love to get a friend request from you on my personal pages!

OK, but seriously, video is the one thing that you will invest towards your wedding that will truly capture the day: the decorations, cake, bridal preparations, first look, ceremony, vows, reception, speeches, the laughs, the tears, the words, the emotions. Video will capture it all, and a lot of that stuff is going to get thrown away at the end of the day. Invest in a quality videographer to tell the story of your day. Have peace of mind knowing that Bonnie Newman Creative will deliver you a beautiful film that you can cherish for a life time.
