I finally got around to upgrading these wine crates I found a few years back and wanted to show you what I did! I’ve used them for vase storage, but I wanted something more branded that I could use for deliveries.

Main Supplies list:
• Kilz white primer+paint
• Paint brush
• Sand paper
• Screw driver
• Plaster
• Wooden handles

Steps:
1. I cleaned the crates outside and inside

2. The sides got sanded where a few labels had been to get sticker residue off

3. One crate had the winery name etched into the wood, so I filled it with plaster

4. I painted 3 coats on each of the four end sides before starting on the logo

5. To apply my logo, I printed it out on paper, cut it out with my pocket knife and then stenciled on the side of the crate with a pencil. (I don’t have a projector, so this was my next best free option)! It was very tedious but fun, so if you have the time, it’s a cost effective way to apply your logo

6. After stenciling the logo on, I painted over it with white paint (don’t look too closely, this was tough free handing it basically)

7. Add the handles on each side, and done!!

I am SO excited to use these!! Just in time with upcoming Easter deliveries this week! I love that these are branded now, but functional!

Wreath Making with Canopy!

Happy Sunday Canopy Friends!

I am making a wreath today with some leftovers I have and wanted to share a “how to” on creating your own simple, but beautiful holiday wreath.

This video is long (sorry, but I wanted to include lots of instruction), so if you gather your supplies ahead and time and then hit “play” you will be well on your way to having your own wreath done by the time it’s over!

To get started, you’ll need a few things (I listed a full supplies list below), but mainly lots of greenery. Those extra branches that were trimmed off your Christmas tree or a bunch bought from the grocery store is perfect. Venture out into the yard too and see if you can find anything that would make for a good addition.

Tips:
- Cut all your branches into smaller pieces before you start building your wreath
- Precut 6-8 longer pieces of wire ahead of time
- Select a finishing ribbon and have out as inspiration while you work

I realized I said each part was the “fun” part… guess what, the whole thing should be fun!! Wreath making should be relaxing, cheerful and creative! Don’t over stress or worry about each stage too much… just follow and trust the process.

Supplies I used (and where you can find so you can do this at home):

Greenery
- Floral wire (Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Joanns-basically any craft store)
- Metal wreath ring base (Hobby Lobby or Joanns sell inexpensive ones in the macrame/beading isle)
- Gardening shears (order a good pair or buy some from your local hardware store)
- Ribbon (silk and velvet are my favorite textures especially for the holidays, but you can use any kind you want)

I hope you had fun watching and will try making your own at home. If you do, I would love to see your creations!!

If you want to host your own Canopy wreath workshop, I offer in home sessions for you and your friends, for corporate events or parties!

Merry Christmas!!
