Film Screening and discussion with the filmmakers of “Stories from the Mekong,” a project empowering young filmmakers in Thailand to produce documentaries that bring visibility to the lives of local communities.

• “The State of the Powerless”, A film by Cat on the Rooftop Team about Tamui village in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand
• “Light of the Mekong”, A film by Kratibbai Home Studio Team from Udorn Thani province, Thailand. It is about the Kok Wow community, located along the Mekong River at the Pak Chom Dam project site.
A discussion with the filmmakers;
• Yingyong Wongtakhi, winner of the Best Documentary Award from the Entertainment Critics Association, 2023 director of the documentary film “The State of the Powerless”
• Athidxay Bouandaoheuang, a filmmaker from Lao PDR, director of the documentary film “Moving Sand”
• Mingkwan Thuat, a female documentary director who drives public communication work in the Northeast, director of the documentary film “Light of the Mekong”
• Urupong Raksasat, production consultant for the project “From the Middle of the Mekong to the City” and a well-known film director
• Ormboon Thipsuna, content consultant for the project “From the Middle of the Mekong to the City”, president of the Mekong Community Organization Network Association, 7 Northeastern Provinces
