We had a lovely afternoon today visiting Year 4 pupils at Dixons Allerton Academy in Bradford. Optometrist Aashia Khizar taught the children all about the eyes and the importance of sight tests. 💥 We had some fun with some blinking and glasses activities and handed out some goody bags and activity sheets they could complete in their science lesson afterwards!
Such a lovely year group of well mannered and polite youngsters and I think we have inspired the next generation into Ophthalmology too! 👏🏻😎

It’s men’s health week coming up (10th-16th June) and there’s no better health than mental health - and our very own Dominic Doran, retail director at , & is doing something incredibly inspiring and motivating to raise money for - an organisation providing a space to talk and offering support to men for their mental health 💙

He and his friends and family are climbing the National 3 Peaks in his cousins memory. Matthew sadly took his own life in January 2023 leaving the family with a gaping hole and a huge loss. They are walking this weekend in a challenge that involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, commencing early Saturday morning with Ben Nevis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, then Scafell Pike 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in the evening and finishing off by climbing Snowdon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 on Sunday morning.

The whole team at Specsavers are so proud of you Dom and are wishing you and your fellow hikers the best of luck in the amazing challenge. Well done on raising a fantastic amount of over £5,000 already - let’s hope we can get your total over the 6K mark and support even more people at Andy’s Man Club! 💥🎯
