Sometimes I shoot for fun & maternity leave has given me an opportunity to go through those "just for fun" shoots.. almost a year later but... Better late than never?

THIS RIGHT HERE is why I tell clients not to worry if we have clouds at the start of a session, especially at sunset! The lower the sun goes the more it lights up those clouds on a good day. This sunset started showing some good colors 30 minutes before sundown and only continued to get more amazing!

Super stoked to capture these sweet memories for L+T & for their wedding in June!

Also side note: Aloha Friday already?! I didn't accomplish half of what I thought I was going to this week but that's kind of the new norm being 36 weeks preggers haha.

Getting caught up on so many things this week as I get ready to take my maternity leave! Editing, emails, website updates, and lots of stuff around the house that's been needing to be done!

I will be turning off my inquiry form in 2 weeks, and will not be accepting new inquiries until sometime after the baby is born and I feel ready for it! 💞

Very grateful for what I have coming up this year! When I start accepting inquiries again I will be taking limited couples sessions throughout summer and very limited wedding bookings in September and October.

🧁🎂🥳🎈Happy birthday to me!! I wished it wasn't Monday, that didn't quite work out for me.

Today I'm 31-- I didn't get a 30th bday because of covid and I won't really have a 31st because of delta variant so in like a year or two I fully expect that I will be making up for 3 or more pretty lame birthdays.

My birthday has always been one of my favorite times of year because I love summer and there are no other holidays in August really, so it usually has been a good excuse to do something fun. What's your favorite time of year?

This year, I'm just too exhausted this year to even think of planning anything like that lol.

Anyway I'm just rambling now-- have a great day!

Haven't posted in a few days & just felt like I needed to share these photos from the third time we "got married." Love you the most 💕

Also, I love to travel between islands! Kauai is probably my favorite to visit but any and all Hawaiian islands are an option if you're booking a photo session with me 🙌🙌🙌

Such a beautiful wedding to be a part of on Oahu! All the bright colors of my dreams! 😍😍😍

Sustainability is really important to J + A so they made sure to incorporate it into their wedding day! The whole wedding party rented Teslas and it was pretty amazing!

Should I write a blog post about sustainable wedding ideas? It’s actually super important to me too! Drop your sustainable ideas in the comments if you have any!!

Did you know my most popular elopement package is 4 hours?! 😮

Much of the time people think that's way too much time for just a quick elopement, but once you think about how diverse the islands are- 🏞️🌊⛱️🌞☁️🌦️🌴🌲🌋-and how much they have to offer in terms of diverse scenery, it's quite easy to spend 4 hours hopping between amazing locations!

In this session for R+ S we were able to hit up 3 amazing spots (2 of which required hiking!) It can be easy to plan an itinerary that lasts 4 hours (or more!) if you want getting ready photos or to explore multiple locations!

So whether you want those intimate details of getting ready or you want to hit up multiple epic locations, consider booking more hours with your photographer! I don't regret a single hour I hired my own for!

When C contacted me about a surprise proposal above the clouds I was already game, but then when he said he wanted to have their friend group come and surprise her too, I have to admit I was nervous that they'd be able to keep a secret that big! We secretly texted leading up to the big day and coordinated everything from what we'd be wearing and what our cars looked like so that we could find each other at the mountain top.

I pretended to be a tourist with my camera snapping photos and C asked me a to take a picture of them on their cell phone. After I handed the phone back he got down on one knee and S almost immediately said yes! It was so adorable! Not only that but about 30 seconds later her group of friends who travelled out here from the mainland came up to her and she was in a complete state of shock!

The surprise worked! What an awesome happy day for these two! Congrats C+S and big thanks to your amazing friends for making this day so extra special as well!

Tips for your trash the dress underwater session:
✨Buy a lightweight dress (things get heavier fast underwater!)
✨Bring or rent a pair of flippers for easier swimming before and after your photos!
✨Point your toes for a dancer-like effect in your photos
✨Relax, come up for air when you need it.
✨Watch the current to make sure you can swim back in.
✨most of all....HAVE FUN!

Hello Friends!

My name is Bre, nice to meet you! I find adventure and joy in everything I do. Taking stunning, playful photos is just one way I get that sense of excitement and delight. Let’s giggle and have an adventure together!

My interest in photography started in high school and I’ve honed in on my craft over the past 10 years to learn everything I can about how to get those amazing images that give you the gigs (giggles) and make you feel warm and fuzzy the instant you see them! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest but my husband’s work took us to Hawaii where we have been for the past 7 years. I’ve been an elementary school teacher for the past 5 years where I also get to bring joy to littles every day but photography is my number one passion.

I’m new to the photography “biz”, but loving every minute of it so far and I can’t wait to get some beautiful pictures of you! In addition to photography, I love coffee, making mixed drinks, hiking, and especially TRAVELING! I will literally go anywhere, let’s do it! Whether you’re down for an adventurous session hiking to a valley, or for a more relaxed session on the beach, or if you just want to meet up for coffee or drinks, I’m your girl!
