I spent a whole month in Le Marche managing two major weddings and, in the (little) spare time I tried hard to enjoy the company of family and friends. Le Marche is my original “casa”, home, my birthplace and where I spent half of my life and although I have a new home now, London, I always maintain a close connection with it: this connection is mostly to the people and as I grow older leaving and coming back to my second home London gets harder and harder. Thankfully this business keeps taking me back to home #1 regularly and even if I have intentionally slowed it down in the past two years to adjust to my new life abroad, it is still moving on although in different directions. I am working on a new website, new services and looking far ahead, looking forward to what these next two years will bring. Thank you all for still supporting this space, I am quite “anti-social”, old school and not at all a serial “poster” but you will keep getting glimpses of how Merry Le Marche will evolve quite regularly (hopefully!!!). When the wedding ceremony is not at the venue, the arrival at the reception location is particularly important and can be organised to to welcome the couple and guests with a bang.
A welcome sign with a map of the place might be a particularly nice touch at large venues as the guests tend to love to explore and wander about: a killer Italian-style aperitif to quench everyone’s thirst is mandatory and a classy band playing catchy tunes will definitely add up to the charme and set the tone for what’s coming next.
For certain couples this part of the event is truly important and deserves proper attention, like it was the case with Fede and Paolo last summer ✨

Welcome events are a very good way for the bride and groom to loose some tension and ease their way to the wedding weekend. In our experience the two weeks before the wedding are quite tough for couples as it finally dawns on them that the wedding day is around the corner and this naturally makes them a bit nervous.
Even the most laid back couples get a bit shaky and typically start worrying about their guests: will they enjoy what we have organised? Will they love this part of Italy? And how about the overall concept for the weekend, will it be to their taste?
These questions are only natural: expectations and fear to disappoint take over for a while but all the worries magically (and mathematically!) disappear at the welcome dinner.
Welcome events are when couples finally get to loosen up: all worries disappear when they see the smiles on the guest's faces as they get to the venue, their joy as they sip great wine and their excitement about everything the bride and groom have organised. And then it gets emotional. Couples start to take in all the love from all the loved ones realising that they have travelled very far to be part of this important landmark of their lives. You can literally see it happen and this shift in their mood is a joy to witness.

As a general rule I like people that don’t take themselves too seriously, that like to have a laugh (even at themselves) and have fun, even during a wedding. Fede and Paolo fell into this category perfectly and I really enjoyed our planning sessions during which the never-ending banter between them was just hilarious.
When such a couple also happens to be food loving, great at cooking and the top entertainers amongst their friends, we decided that it was vital to incorporate all these aspects during cake cut. Thanks to who assisted with the operations and which designed custom aprons, they assembled the cake in the most fun way that entertained guests (and vendors) making everyone laugh with comedic sketches and jokes. For a second it felt like we were in their living room in Westminster and not in an ancient castle courtyard and it was the best thing ever.

What can I say? We are a lucky bunch… we are blessed with the most amazing brides and Anna was one by all means of them. She is a Polish powerhouse, passionate about good food, good wine and Italy in every shape and form (yes, also in the shape of Alberto, a very lucky Italian groom). No wonder we got along so well! We proud ourselves of having promoted our beautiful region of Le Marche for almost a decade with events of various kinds. Some of you might not know that, but weddings are just a small part of what we do and hands-on activities have always been our forte and we have been involved in the so-called “experiential tourism” way before it became a thing.

There is a phrase us Italians are particularly fond of: “eccellenze italiane all’estero”. It usually refers to all-things Italian worthy of being defined as excellent, outstanding, and that we love to show off when we speak with foreigners. These “eccellenze italiane” make us Italians well known all over the world: fshion, food, wine, art, design are all for instance “eccellenze italiane”.
And then we have the Italians: people who live overseas and represent our beautiful country abroad in the best possible way. They are the ones that, more than any wine or fancy garment, show us off for our intelligence, resilience, creativity, passion.
Federica and Paolo fall precisely into this category. They embody everything good about our country and London is so, so lucky to have them.
I fell in love with them from day 1 for their immense intelligence, wit, sense of humour, sense of organisation and the never-ending banter between each other. The only way I can describe their wedding is “epic” but that’s a story for another time. Today it’s just about THEM, two Italians taking on the world who make me proud of where I am from💛 💛

Merry Le Marche is an ever evolving business and since its creation, almost a decade ago, it has gone through major changes and phases. In the infamous 2020 we shifted from being “just” destination event planners to the founders of our own boutique hotel and bar in the middle of the most amazing Italian countryside. I must say that these projects took over our lives for a while and the core business, Merry Le Marche, had to take the back seat. That was also because, being ours a destination business, our international clientele could not really travel to Italy much.
During that time we looked after and full time and I personally started providing consultancy to venues and vendors of the event industry as an independent strategist and my personal brand .generali.
2023 will be the year that Merry Le Marche turns the page again. I moved back to London and me and .nigra, co-founder of the business with me, we are now considering our options. I must admit that in more than one occasion, especially in times of hardship and loneliness, I thought about letting this business go but I don’t quite frankly think I can push myself to do that. Too much history there, and too much unexpressed potential still waiting to be released.
So let’s see what happens after September, who will stay in the team and who will go, which projects will be left behind, which projects will start, and what the next chapter will be called. Hang in there, hang in there. As Janis used to sing “I’m gonna try (just a little bit harder)” 💪🏻❤️

I still remember that day, quite a few years ago. I was with my son at a playground in Italy when the phone rung. It was a French number so, guessing it might be a work call, I replied. “My name is Amanda, I found you on Insta. I am setting up a holiday home with a focus on retreats and I’d like to invite you to take a look and possibly collaborate”. A few weeks later I went and, oh my word, the villa was amazing and with Amanda we hit it off right away. The years passed, Covid came and left, a wedding I was organising at the villa was cancelled due to the pandemic but now it’s time, time to organise something special at 🌞 .generali 🌞

In case you didn’t know, an agriturismo is a unique type of concept really popular in Italy. Agriturismi serve guests food that is prepared from locally sourced ingredients produced on the farm or by other local producers and it is usually possible to sleep on the premises. They are usually quite rustic and informal but with a proper design plan in place and the assistance of an amazing florist you can turn them into chic venues able to host wedding receptions.
This is a Swedish wedding we planned and designed at very rustic with the help of my amazing florist friend at ✨

When you come to Le Marche you should experience it to its core, you should touch it, caress it and fully feel it. Experiencing a place goes beyond poolside drinks (which are still quite nice, by the way!) because this is a land of artisans who, more often than not, are happy to share their knowledge. Although Le Marche is (thankfully) still rather off the beaten track, whoever visits the regions and gets to experience its outstanding culinary traditions ends up longing for it and wanting to come back. Organising destination events we often get to witness the expression of joy and satisfaction visitors get whenever they bite into an oliva ascolana or eat rabbit for the first time. We are often asked to organise cookery retreats and you know what, I think we should expand our range of activities into a more rounded, indulging and highly hands-on holidays. That sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, it will taste even better. 🍴 .generali

I love that our grooms are always very much involved in the planning and the design of the event, like for instance the handsome gentleman in the photo was.
