Following Jamie & Kelly's move from The Queens Arms to The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet, we did our first SpeedQuizzing at their new home last night. Many thanks to all our long-standing regulars who followed us!

First place went to Your Quiz Needs You, with All Aboard The Dragon Wagon taking second. The spot prize went to New Gaff Same Beers (true!), and romping home in last place were all of the old staff, plus Kelly and Tracey as Here4dabeer!

Great night, and I'll see you for the next one on Monday 23rd September.

Poor Soji was on target to be our SpeedQuizzing champion until Seb yanked the rug from under him! Well done to TEiAM on winning last night's SpeedQuizzing at The Gipsy Queen.

Soji came second, The Chuckle Brothers were 6th for the spot prize, and We're Confused get the 20 point voucher for last place.

The jackpot goes up to £80 next week!

We've got another venue on board! Shaun will be hosting SpeedQuizzing at The Red Lion - Hatfield on Thursday October 17th, and potentially monthly afterwards. We're looking forward to this great quiz night at yet another McMullen's pub!

Due to me taking on a weekly Thursday at a new venue, sadly I'm no longer able to host the monthly SpeedQuizzing night at The Fisherman - Stevenage. So Shaun is your new host, and he had a fantastic turnout last night!

It was our busiest one yet with ten teams, and a huge £88 raised for charity! The rest of the entry fees were split between our top two teams, who were Welwyn Dowd in first and Hateful 8 in second.

The sweets went to lucky 6th place, Norfolk N Good, with Bucktons finishing at the bottom for a 20 point head start voucher for next time.

Thanks for playing, and Shaun's next visit will be on Thursday 3rd October!

It was small and intimate, but worth the 180 mile round trip to Epic Studios in Norwich to host a private SpeedQuizzing event for Insurance Institute of Norwich! Just nine staff members in three teams, but they were great fun. Our winners were Precious Mentals!

From tonight, your monthly quiz at The Fisherman - Stevenage will be in the hands of quizmaster Shaun! While it's been great fun hosting your quiz every month, I have to move on to pastures new as I'll be running a new weekly quiz every Thursday near Cambridge.

How do Egyptian Kings get into a building? They Toot and come in! (OK, I'll get my coat...)

It was Caldecotte - Pub & Grill's very own so called Egyptian Kings who won tonight's SpeedQuizzing, but only by a very narrow margin! In second it was Mike and Rhys as Nobackjacktubby, with Drink While You Think, who had led the whole night, finishing sixth for the tub of sweets.

Last place for a 20 point voucher was Hikers, but too many had left to get their picture for the Hall of Shame!

A great night with 15 teams, and there's more of the same next Wednesday!

Loud and lively, that was another Tuesday night of SpeedQuizzing at Jolly Postie - Royston! Over 50 of you across 15 teams, and Norfolk 'N' Chance won it by just two points! Only just behind them was Thank Gadd We're Back taking second place.

Last week's winners finished in sixth this time, but they did win the Haribos AND £10 of our jackpot!

At the bottom was Si Gone - Roger and Neo, name checking Simon who we haven't seen in a month. Come back to us, Si - we miss your dance moves!

Not too many people were out and about in Cheshunt this week for Shaun's SpeedQuizzing night at The Maltsters, but these lads managed to beat them all! More in two weeks, on Tues 17th Sept.

At the monthly quiz that takes place on the first Monday every month at my smallest venue, we had some big teams tonight! Just eight SpeedQuizzing teams was all it took to fill The Black Horse Chorleywood, and we had a great time. Homemade Honey took the lead near the end and kept their postion at the top, which was a great result for team member Luna on her birthday!

Gen X had taken the top spot several times during the night but finished second by just a small handful of points, and lucky 5th place for a box of Jelly Babies was The Quizzly Bears.

We went from last Sunday being one of the busiest quizzes of the year at The Gipsy Queen to last night being one of the quietest! But in the hot weather on the first day of September, I'm guessing our loss was Clacton's gain.

We still managed to pull 10 SpeedQuizzing teams together made up of just 18 players, many of whom played solo, and our latest winners are Chrissie and Ed who were brand new players!

In second were Quiz Ninjas, and TEiAM took the spot prize for sixth place. The team who came last avoided the shame of being photographed with their 20 point voucher by leaving quickly, so they miss out on a head start next time!

At The Crocodile - Cheshunt last Tuesday on such a warm late summer evening, Leroy hosted SpeedQuizzing outside in the beer garden! His winners were Moaning Muggles, with The Amber Croc taking second place and the 20 point voucher for last place went to Mary Berry's Hairy Cherry.

We'll do it all again in two weeks!

Well, that was a night of pure magnificence at Caldecotte - Pub & Grill! (I mean you lot, not me. Although I was pretty damn good...)

Having dropped to 5th place during the final round, 3 Blokes 1 Girl 1 Tablet knocked all our fasttracked teams down to regain the lead and won the quiz. Our second place SpeedQuizzing team, Drink While You Think, were only a few points behind, and the spot prize for 6th place went to Val's Gals (who only had one girl and one bloke - work that one out!)

Last place were Double S, but they get a 20 point head start next time they come.

The Dead Egg played for the rollover jackpot but didn't win, so that goes up to £160 next week.

What a night! 14 teams, and I can't wait to see you all again next Wednesday!

Shaun was at The Chieftain - Welwyn Garden City for our fortnightly SpeedQuizzing last night, and by the end the Top 2 were the same as last time! Liner won again, making it three in a row - so they get a -50 point handicap next time.

Taking second place again was Inglebork Humplebink for the wine, and Lucky 7th were Quiztina Aguilera for the tub of sweets. Shaun was going to give the 20 point head start voucher to the team in last place, but they left before he could get to them!

Next quiz is on Tuesday 10th September.

They're no strangers to finishing in the Top 3, but last night at Jolly Postie - Royston C U Next Tuesday got their first win! We all knew this day would come, and now they've done it.

Our second place SpeedQuizzing team were I Am Smartacus for the bottle of wine - a step up from last week's 6th place, where they won the tub of sweets. This week's sweetie winners were One Man Down!

Our last place team get a 20 point voucher for a head start next time, but it wasn't an entirely bad result for O'Trivia Newton John as they earlier won £20 from the rollover jackpot.

Two for Tuesday! We're doing the McMullen's double tonight, with Owen SpeedQuizzing at Jolly Postie - Royston, while Shaun does the quizness as The Chieftain - Welwyn Garden City. We're looking forward to the usual big turnout at both! But who can beat our last winners??

And that's that! After 10 years, it's all over at The Queens Arms - Barnet. Jamie and Kelly are moving down the road, so we continue SpeedQuizzing in two weeks at The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet! I'm looking forward to seeing all our regulars at the new place, but we really went out with a bang at the old place!

The main bar area was full with 11 teams, and our latest winners are The Gone Show. Runners-Up were Time Gentlemen Please, with our own bar team Auf Wiedersehen Pet taking the spot prize for winning the bingo. Finally, our last place team took the 20 point voucher which they can redeem at The Kitch, a good effort from The Original Rascals.

After 14 years in charge of The Queens Arms - Barnet, of which I've been running SpeedQuizzing nights for the last 10, Jamie is moving on. He and Kelly are moving just down the road next month to take over The Lord Kitchener - New Barnet, and I'll be going with them to carry on SpeedQuizzing from their new home!

The very last quiz at The Queens Arms is TONIGHT. I'm looking forward to seeing all our regulars here one last time!

As always on a Bank Holiday weekend, we were packed last night for SpeedQuizzing at The Gipsy Queen! 22 teams fought for the top, and as you can see, the final scores were very close!

Seb as TEiAM took top place by just three points, with Bruges Boys in second and only two points ahead of third.

Sixth place for the spot prize was Michael as Slots Army, who told me his son will love the retro sweets!

Taking last place for a 20 point head start next time were some new players, The Dans.

We didn't manage to give away the new cash jackpot, so it'll keep going up until it's won again!

For the second week in a row I covered Angus's SpeedQuizzing night at The Shakespeare in Victoria last night. Very cosy with six teams, and a VERY close finish with only a single point separating all of the Top 3 teams!

Xander took top place, followed by Sabrina just a point behind, and last week's winners, one point behind her, were in third but earlier won the spot prize.

Our barman, Tom, was off duty so was able to give the quiz his full focus, but he still finished last! So as well as the lemon, I also gave him a 20 point voucher so he gets a head start with Angus next week!

It was great fun, but I'm sad to not be able to cover here again as I have my own new Thursday venue starting soon!

Maybe the whole of Milton Keynes is on holiday, but Caldecotte - Pub & Grill was my quietest pub of the whole week so far last night! Just 10 teams, and our winners were Sink While You Think. They were closely followed by Quizly Squat Farm (great name), with the spot prize going to The Spanish Inquizition.

The roads were also empty going home, MK was like a ghost town! Very weird...

This week's winners at Jolly Postie - Royston! Another busy SpeedQuizzing Tuesday with 16 teams, and Norfolk 'N' Chance got a second win in a row which means they get 25 points taken off their final score next time!

In second, AND earlier winning £50 of our rollover jackpot, we had Vert The Ferk, with I Am Smartacus taking the sweeties for 6th place.

In last was Mayo Watsit, but as they missed out on any bonus points at the start as they arrived at the last minute, I gave them TWO 20 point vouchers for a head start next time. So we'll see if they do better on their next visit!

Our final quiz at The Queens Arms - Barnet is just a week away! After that, we continue in a new home, The Lord Kitchener on East Barnet Road, opposite Sainsbury's. I know you'll be there, I'll be there and Jamie will be running the place, but it still feels like the end of an era!

Please remember while Jamie and the team wind things down in their last week at The Queens Arms, the kitchen will be closing earlier. So you'll need to have your dinner at home before next week's final quiz!
