Level 1 Course - Saturday 22nd June 2024

Well we were not expecting that but our first Level 1 Course in 2024 sold out in less than a week so we’ve added another date from our new location in Bolton, Lancashire on Saturday 22nd June. The Level 1 course is our ‘Introduction to Aircooled Vehicles’ and is suitable for new owners as well as people who have owned their vehicle for a few years.

In addition and after a few requests we’ve added a Level 2 Course to the Calendar and this will be held on Saturday 13th July, this is a follow on course to our successful Level 1 course and is aimed at those looking to maintain their own aircooled vehicle, this is very much a hands on course and is limited to 6 people. This course looks at Engine tuning, electrical fault finding as well was maintenance of brakes & steering components.�

We are pleased to announce that we will be running our first Level 1 Course from our new location in Bolton, Lancashire on Saturday 11th May. Our new location is based out a Farmhouse dating back to the 1650’s , renovation work is ongoing but we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get ready to not only run the workshops but also take in workshop bookings as well. The Level 1 course is our ‘Introduction to Aircooled Vehicles’ and is suitable for new owners as well as people who have owned their vehicle for a few years.�
Having run nearly 50 courses since 2016 we are constantly evolved the content based on what attendees want to learn and we will continue to adopt this approach, as previously the course will run from 10am until 4-4.30pm with a break for lunch which we provide, in addition to refreshments that are provided throughout the day. There’s no need to bring your own aircooled vehicle but you are more than welcome to.��
We will be announcing a date for our Level 2 course which follows on from the Level 1 very shortly.

Aircooled Campout 2024 Update
We have looked at the dates for this year and it appears to be a really busy show season with everything back in full swing.
With this in mind we have taken the difficult decision NOT to run the Aircooled Campout in 2024 as we don't feel this would be fair on FirTrees who have been so good to us over the years and we are sure they could generate better revenue then we could provide over that weekend.
We have never run the event to make a profit but to put something back to the Aircooled community and to cover our costs and some years its actually cost us money to run the event and with our move 'Up North' our own costs have increased and we cannot continue as we have been.
We would like to wish all our supporters over the last few years a great show season ahead and hope to catch you at a show or in a field somewhere for a few beers.
We are actively on the lookout for a similar venue in the North West.

So its been a while since we last posted, its been a busy time over the last few months trying to get the new (old) house sorted (still nowhere near ready) but its time to look at the annual Aircooled Campout and to see whether theres enough interest for us to run it again this year.

The dates are booked in at Fir Trees Campsite at Warmington for the 5th-7th July 2024 but we really want to ensure theres the demand in what is now a very busy show Calendar.

Pricing is likely to remain close to what it was last year and if we go ahead how many of you are likely to come, the reason for asking is thats its only fair on the campsite to let them know whether we are likely to fill the space again to make it worthwhile for them as they close the site down for that weekend.

A huge thank you to all those that came to the Aircooled Campout at Banbury this weekend, as usual the weather could have been better but at least it stayed dry on the Saturday and we had a very pleasant day and evening.
Big thanks to Karle for spinning the tunes and Sparky, Matt, Jo, Steve & Dave that helped us over the weekend with the structure and packing away etc.

We've got a date pencilled for next year which is the 5-7th July 2024 again at Fir Trees but are looking to create another event further north once we can find a venue.

Tickets are now on sale for the Aircooled Campout 2023.
(Aircooled Vehicles ONLY)

Back for 2023 with a few changes, due to an ongoing dispute the Rally Field is not available this year so we have been offered space down on the main campsite in the area below the Falconry. This means we are closer to the toilet & shower block but does mean it's a bit further to walk to the Farm Shop and the Pubs.

Well what a weekend at the Earlybay/Aircooled Campout at Banbury this weekend, weather started off pretty grim on Friday but Saturday and Sunday definitely made it worth the work to put this show on. Huge thanks to those that came from the regulars to the first timers it was great to see you all having a good time at an old school VW event.

So our usual visit to site on the Thursday before a Campout weekend, DJ/ control tent is up and the grass is fairly short so it’s sandals and shorts for the weekend but pack a raincoat as well😂😂

After a lot of thought and taking into account the congested event diary during the month of August we have decided to merge the 2 events we normally run into one event in May, so the Earlybay.com Campout and Aircooled Campout will be on the same weekend of the 20-22nd May 2022.
I hope all the Earlybay people that have already booked are OK with this change and it now means we can open it those friends that don't own an Early Bay but own an Aircooled Vehicle. We still aim to do the Earlybay Line up on the Sunday morning for those that are interested.

So after a gap of 2 years the EarlyBay.com campout is back for 2022, held at our usual location of Fir Tree Campsite, Nr Banbury. Once again we'll be doing the build date order line up on the Sunday for those that like that kind of thing.

A huge thank you to all those that came to the Aircooled Campout over the weekend, we had a lot of drop outs leading up to the event but those that came had a great weekend by all accounts so once again thank you fir supporting us (despite the weather forecast), special one for us with our Granddaughter Nori camping for the first time and she absolutely loved it as I’m sure most of you that met her would have noticed, great to see old friends and make new friends so once again Thank You from Jenni & Graham

AIRCOOLED CAMPOUT 2021 UPDATE

We have been asked by a few people whether the campout is still going ahead, yes it is but all attending must comply with the current Covid restrictions.



You have booked a pitch on a campsite so you are away camping for the weekend but please bear in mind the following:



No meeting of groups larger than 30 People outside.

No meeting of more than 6 people from 2 households in an enclosed structure (Awning)

We understand that an event shelter or similar with 50% of the sides open is considered to be ‘Outside’ but again that has to be your interpretation.

We ask you to go to the gov.uk website and read the latest restrictions for yourselves and make sure you are comfortable with them and are happy to comply with them before arriving at the campsite.



I’m sure you’ll agree that we all want the Camp Out to go ahead and for everyone attending to remain safe, however as the organisers of the Camp Out we cannot be held responsible if you choose the break the latest Covid restrictions.

With just over 3 weeks to go we are putting a request out for some volunteers to help us set up on the Friday Morning and breakdown on the Sunday Afternoon.
As you are aware we don't run this event to make a profit just to cover our costs and as we are flat out in the Workshop this year we are looking for some help to set up.
Nothing arduous just helping with the main tent for the DJ/Control and Gazebo at the Gate Area.
So if you have a ticket for the event and can arrive at around 10am on the Friday then we would appreciate some help, please drop me a PM. (only need 4 -6 people max). We also need help to Derig from late morning on the Sunday.
The main gates do not open until 2pm so please do not arrive before then as we wont be ready for you.

We sent out an email to all those people that had tickets carried over from the postponed October event but have still to hear back from over 30 people a week later.
As per the email if we don't hear back from you by the end of Sunday 18th April (please reply to the email) we will release your tickets and issue a refund to you so we can release those tickets to those that are wanting to come to the Campout.

We've been holding back to see how things are progressing but based on conversations with the Campsite we are pleased to announce that the Aircooled Campout 2021 will go ahead as originally announced in December between the 2-4th July 2021 at our usual location of Fir Trees Campsite, Banbury, OX17 1JL.
Unfortunately we cannot go ahead with the planned Earlybay Campout in May as the 'Rule of 6/2 Households' will still be in place.
Priority will be given to those people that have tickets from the postponed Campout 2 from October 2020 and we will be in touch with those people over the next couple of days, we would ask that if you cannot make the Campout that you release the tickets you have so we can make full use of the site available to us.
Once we know how many of those plan to attend we will release any tickets that are then available but I'm only expecting it to be a small number.
