✨ Your bouquet ✨ Most often I find brides have given a lot of thought to their wedding party dresses + bouquets but have not taken the time to think about what they will carry down the aisle. SO HERE IS YOUR MOMENT to think about it! When styling your outfit for the day think of your bouquet like an accessory. It should accent you, elevate your outfit, highlight your spouse + compliment your overall aesthetic for the day.
There are 3 major things to consider:
SIZE. We use plate sizes for size comparisons. Will your bouquet be: Bread & butter plate? Salad plate? Dinner plate? Charger plate? Larger? This proportion makes the statement or understatement you are looking for.
SHAPE. Traditional round? Loose & asymmetrical? Cascading? This composition tells everyone your vibe + based on the flowers can put a really interesting spin on any of the shapes!
COLOR. One of the most powerful elements of design. Some want to keep their bouquet whites, greens + neutrals. Some want to add pops of color. This will define your wedding photos + help round out how your overall color palette appears. This is where you can pull your color story through + match your season or get playful + do something completely unexpected.

Airbrush. Airbrush make up artists are a must for that light airy photo finish coverage.
Trial run. I usually recommend planning your trial to coincide with a complementary wedding event, like your shower. An occasion where you can feel gorgeous in your make up + make a few tweaks to your hair so not to spoil the big reveal!
Preparation. It’s not just the day. Like anything preparation pays off. Create a good relationship with the pros so they can advise you on color, care + a regiment that results in your best self on your wedding day, before + after.

* When they have a bouquet moment + really focus on your gorgeous blooms of the day.
* The best photographers somehow know who the important people are, without ever actually meeting them. They just sense it.
* They authentically capture the mood. The big picture. They can zoom out to show your setting, use the environment. Like how this image captures all the textures that make up
* They can truly capture a flat lay. They use ribbons, backdrops, fresh blooms + more to make beautiful moments.
* They can capture your best angles, have a serious relationship with light, become your best friend + make you totally comfortable in front of the camera all while making it look easy. 👏 Let’s take a moment for these talented artists 👏

Bustles. Let’s talk about them! Buttons, ribbons, hooks, oh my! There are so many ways to bustle the smallest trains all the way to the very long extravagant ones! Have your shoes picked out before this alteration so you can make sure it falls just the way you want. For some of the more complex ones (I’m talking color coding, alphabetizing, numerical order, I’ve seen a lot 😂) do a practice run with your seamstress + your maid of honor or close friend who will be by your side on the wedding day. I have yet to meet a bustle I can’t solve 🧐, but keep your planner in the know as well. When is the best time to bustle? I usually recommend towards the end of cocktail hour, after some amazing photographs of you, your spouse + your gown in all its glory 🤍 before you get announced + hit that dance floor. It’s a great time to pull your veil out + touch up your hair too!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from HF Events! So grateful for everyone who has trusted me to be part of their events + often one of the most important days in their life. I am grateful for my beautiful family who loves + supports me.
I am grateful for a career I love + can create beautiful moments.
Recently while hauling a 300lb piece of vintage furniture back to our home with my husband I said “Your life sure would be easier if I didn’t always make you haul things.” (Picture me doing events while dating in our 20’s + him helping me breakdown events at midnight loading up trucks full of flowers, candles + furniture 😂) Jeffrey responded “but it wouldn’t be nearly as beautiful.” And it struck all the notes. I have surrounded myself with beautiful people, places + memories. For that I am truly grateful.

Getaway cars, rickshaws + boats. Sneaking out during the reception to embellish the vehicle of choice. Learning more about Ford Model A’s than I ever imagined. And learning how little storage space old vintage vehicles have… like not even enough for a bride + grooms suitcase.

It has been 1 year since my mentor, boss + friend has passed. I still find myself going to call her with fun new event planning or floral discoveries or thinking of our 6AM phone calls on event mornings with the “brain drain” from all the contingencies that kept us awake leading up to someone’s big day.
I’ve tried to listen to what she taught me. Prioritizing my young family + knowing business will always be there. Words I take more seriously now more than ever.
You were never one for fuss, so instead…a mini tribute of some of the beautiful events + design elements that will always remind me of you. 🥂

4.14.23 Jameson is 4 years old! This sweet boy is an amazing big brother, so kind + so fun! He is loving Mario, his Lego Avenger video game, and “HULK SMASH!” 💥 We love you so much + are so proud of you Jameson! ❤️

The best photographers come prepared + plan for a flat lay. What does this mean? It means they ask you to put together a box with some of your favorite elements + find a beautiful way to display + photograph them all while you are getting final touch ups done to hair + make up. Always have your florist save some beautiful blooms for your flat lay. Incorporating ribbon, linen, or other key fabrics help infuse the image with color + texture.
