AS TIME GOES BY
As time goes by,
You will loosen your grip on that rock,
The one you always thought was home,
And you will realise that home is not a place,
It’s a state of mind.
Let it go.
As times goes by,
You will learn to see yourself more clearly,
The girl who was always too much of one thing,
And too little of another, was actually
Everything she needed to be.
Let her out.
As time goes by,
You will let the simple things become the big,
And you will allow the big things to become the simple,
And that readjustment will be,
The day you really start to live,
Let it be.
As time goes by,
You will be forced to say goodbye many times,
And your soft little heart will shatter but,
It will still beat and that will bring you,
All the purpose you need.
Let it beat.
As time goes by,
You will stop choosing wealth over peace,
You will stop choosing money over time,
And you will see that the treasures you need,
Are in the smiles and the laughter.
Let them in.
As times goes by,
The moments you remember when your life flashes past,
Are never the awful memories my friend, it’s the joy,
The summer nights, the lazy days with loved ones,
The midnight chats and the morning hugs,
Let them happen.

Maybe you care because deep down you wish someone would care for you the same way you care for others.
Maybe you give and give and give because, deep down, you know what it feels like to lack.
And, deeper down, you get to at least prove to yourself that such pure love does and can, in fact, exist in the world.
Yet be careful that, in your commitment to give, you don’t turn into an over-giver; someone who gives more than they have; a people-pleaser who struggles drawing boundaries; a person for whom the word “no” sounds like a foreign language; a kind human who constantly betrays their own values for the promise of someone else’s love; someone who burns out just to keep others warm.
This is one of the dangers of running on empathy-autopilot. To the point where you may even feel sorry for the people who hurt you 🤯
Please don’t forget to extend to yourself the same care & attention you give to others — without feeling guilty, selfish or self-indulgent.
🌀 Here’s a secret: our capacity to give is directly proportional to our capacity to receive.
Allow yourself to also wholeheartedly receive without feeling indebted 🙌🏽✨
And know when “no” is the most compassionate word you can say 🙌🏽✨

Doing
Your ability is not just a shadow backed by light. You are the light and were born to fly...
Are you a person who says, “I am going to do that” or a person who says, “I am doing that.” ?
As the wise and soulful poet Maya Angelou said, “Nothing will work unless you do.” So, waiting for the right time, condition, etc. is an excuse that will hold you right where you are - and it is in that space of “I’m going to” that precious time is wasted.
The power in our words can be forever life changing but, it is in the doing, the action, the movement of your affirmation that bends our willingness to believe we can do anything. When we bring ‘doing’ to the forefront (superseding negativity, make it current and present) we accomplish many things. And even if outcome is not quite what we intended remember - trying is doing - and success is only measured by your best effort.

This affirmation is a journey. A process. A mission, an undoing and a reset. It may mean making a list of the harmful messages you’ve received over a lifetime, or letting go of what hasn’t been kind to you inside your lifestyle. It could mean setting down what isn’t healthy or safe within a dynamic or ongoing situation. It requires confronting truths. Acknowledging needs. Positioning the necessary boundaries. And it may mean having conversations that are intimidating, uncomfortable, or outright risky.
This affirmation is a statement. Often those in a position of feeling helpless find that expressing desires, needs, limitations, and truths only lead them towards being shut-down or labeled as making trouble. And depending on how deep they are in the commitment, the connection, the job or the relationship, the more they find it difficult to assess the inconsistencies, imbalances, or abuse patterns and instead, normalize them in order to survive. So, sometimes keeping an affirmation in the forefront during a personal deprogramming stage serves to remind us of our importance when the surrounding circumstance continually invalidates our being.
This affirmation is a license. It is a written document granting authority to self-govern. To take up your complete system of energies and own them. To hold your autonomy as a prized possession. You know somewhere deep within, you were born with a right to freely articulate what you need to feel safe in the world, even if at first to yourself. Once you begin repeating it quietly, it becomes an assertion of your worth and expands into an empowering echo, reverberating its way to the outside. And you’ll discover those who love you will respond to this song with an equally resounding appreciation and tribute.

of how important we really are in this world—

THE TIME OF OUR LIFE
What time is our time but all we have now; what moment is ours but right here?
Do we live in the now being all that we can or do we wait for it all to appear?
We can't hold the hands of the ticking of time, we can't speed the dial or rewind,
But in mind we have all from ahead and before; all the voices from every line.
In time we hold now like a present, yet some keep it wrapped, never seen,
For some chase the time till it breaks them and their presence is lost in the need.
See, time can't be borrowed or taken, it cannot be caught or held down,
As time is just our revealing of all that we have in the now.
Now is our time to feel timeless, embrace every path we have taken.
We have everything now in all around, so let this be the time of our making.
We can't count the years and the grief in our tears, for there we hold time full of strife,
We just hold our own hand to the beat of our heart and make this time the time of our life.
