Our Story

Film and Foliage is a Newcastle based floral design company created and owned by Novacastrian floral designer Ashlee Wheelhouse. An intuitive and boundless creative, Ash ensures her floristry inhibits the wild and organic nature of flowers, creating naturally fascinating and textured designs.

Conscious environmental practices are really important to us - this means our team never uses floral foam and wherever possible we use seasonal and locally sourced blooms. We also love to use forgotten or foraged foliage and dried elements to add divine texture and set our work apart. This way of working helps us to create richly layered and wildly beautiful arrangements while still respecting our beautiful Mother Earth.

A perfect match for the adventure bride, we flourish in the outdoors and within the vast wilderness. Film and Foliage provides lush and unrestrained accompaniments to stunning, natural environments such as the Blue Mountains, Tasmania and New Zealand.

We combine our formal training with an immeasurable imagination to create arrangements of innate and primitive beauty focusing on seasonal florals, strong colour palettes, organic lines and dried flora. Film and Foliage ensures a relaxed experience due to our extensive experience of over 300 weddings, providing ease and trust for our clients. We create richly layered and wildly beautiful arrangements that would suit weddings, styled shoots, corporate creations and events.
