Awhile ago I talked about how I was trying to find words that described my photography, me, and just my business in general.

I haven’t narrowed it down just yet, but if you check out my editing style, I like to stay as natural as possible when it comes to your photos.

To me, there’s just something about looking back at your wedding day just as it was, the way you saw it.

I’M B A C K!
Hi, all! It’s Kenzie 👋🏻 I’m back from vacation! I will be working diligently this week to catch up on emails and tasks but please be patient as I have almost 200 emails to respond to.
This week was much needed. I saw something on Facebook that said something about “Crazy we give kids multiple breaks during the year and a whole summer off, but adults are expected to only take off 10 days per year.” And that resonated with me. I am a workaholic, no doubt. I love what I do so it’s not surprising that it is hard for me to take time off.
I went home to Nashville this week to show my boyfriend where I grew up and meet my family. While I didn’t get away with not working the *whole* week. I did take a significant break to spend time with family that was much needed.
I was reading my Bible yesterday in Genesis 2 where God created the world. In verse 3, “He blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because He rested from all the work of creating.”
I think if the Creator of the Universe thinks of resting as holy, that we shouldn’t feel bad about taking a few days off, especially if it’s only a couple times a year. And definitely in this industry, when we work all week and weekends too. Vacations are healthy and keep us going.
So now I’m back at it, well-rested and ready for fall 🤩

B A D . R E V I E W
Well, it took 4 years but it happened. ⚠️Vulnerability ahead ⚠️
I got my first bad review yesterday. But I was so busy all day I didn’t even have time to process it. I still don’t really know what to think, but I’m trying really hard to embrace the fact that what one person says or thinks about me does not define me.
This was a client who fired me during the process because it wasn’t a good fit. I keep getting defensive in my head because I wasn’t even there on the wedding day. I was busy during the planning process - all vendors were - and I told them that. I did do the work.
Despite all my excuses, it doesn’t change anything. I know I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and that should be okay. I’m not perfect, and that’s okay. Because for each person who has a negative thing to say, I can think of dozens of others that have said such nice things. That’s what I choose to focus on.
It’s like getting a new car and waiting to get your first dent. It still drives just fine, just proves it has miles put on it and can go the distance 👋🏻

O N E . Y E A R
It’s officially been 365 days since I sent that email. The one to my Chicago recruiter saying “Nevermind, I don’t want the job” It was the most nerve wracking decision of my life.
Chicago had been my dream for 4 years but I was so unsure I still wanted to go. The thought of leaving Knoxville broke my heart. I finally convinced myself this was the right decision.
I looked back at the email I sent him and reflected on everything I’ve done in the last year and it made me cry. I’m so grateful.
One year today. I went full time and I’m never looking back. I think that’s a reason for cake. 🎂

We don’t *love* rain on a wedding day, but we will ALWAYS make the best of it. Every venue is going to have a rain plan of sorts and pictures with umbrellas?? I’m not complaining.
In other news, we made it through an entire wedding at the Trillium with no hospital visits 👏🏼 I ended up having to leave Chantel & Reid’s wedding halfway through when I almost broke my foot, but their amazing vendor team stepped up and the rest of the night was a breeze!
Grateful for amazing friendors and foggy mountain days making for stellar photos 🤩

Did you know?? We do weddings in Nashville!
I am actually from Nashville so I am always happy to do a wedding at home! We also have coordinators that live in Nashville so it makes it easier for us to do them out there.
Nashville is definitely a different market than Knoxville, but my goal for 2022 is for us to do more out there. This was my favorite Nashville wedding of 2021. Partially, because LOOK at these pics 🤩 Partially because Andrea’s mom, Kathy, has cut my hair since I was about 8 years old so wedding with family friends are always more special. It was so fun to celebrate with them!dock

It’s been almost a full year since I posted anything introducing myself (shame on me). I have so many new brides and friendors, that I wanted to show my face again!
My name is Kenzie, and I own I Do… Weddings. I have always wanted to be an event planner and weddings became my niche.
I started my biz the summer after my junior year of college and continued to grow it through the pandemic, the rest of college and grad school. Now I Do… Weddings is my full-time gig 🤩
Fun facts about me: I have an accounting degree so I’m a huge spreadsheet nerd. I rewatch TV shows a gazillion times. My go-to *drank* is a peach Truly Tea. I want a German Shepherd desperately.
I have been tremendously blessed to be in this business. I am so honored to have such an amazing network of amazing people to work with. And I’m so grateful I have found a job that never feels like work.
