"We Lift Our Voices (Banana Republic's Junk Mix)" by Johan S. Presents Integrated Society 🎶
Sharing something truly special today – a vinyl gem that's been a staple in my DJ arsenal for over two decades! I recently stumbled upon this rare treasure, "We Lift Our Voices (Banana Republic's Junk Mix)," released back in 1995 on the legendary SWEAT label
(SWHX 028P / SWHY 028P).
This track was revolutionary in its time, one of the early pioneers to blend breaks and what we now call broken beats. It's been a defining piece for me, shaping my love for unique rhythms and infectious vibes on the dancefloor.
Fun fact: this record was so elusive that I happily paid Dj Funky Smith over the odds just to secure a copy lol . And let me tell you, it was worth every penny! It became a resident in my DJ crate, spinning its infectious energy to partygoers for years.
Big shoutout to Brian Tharme & Gavin Mills, the masterminds behind DJ Face - Banana Republic/Copyright/Catch Productions, for creating such an unforgettable masterpiece that has stood the test of time.
What's more intriguing is that, to my knowledge, this track still remains exclusive to vinyl. Even after all these years, its digital presence remains a mystery, making it even more precious and cherished.
Special thanks to DJ Pied Piper one of the select few I've encountered who shares the love for this elusive vinyl and spins it with sheer joy.
