Spotted: an elopement officiant in the wild!
While I would much rather post photos of my couples, the scenery or a cute dog (stay tuned - corgi photo on deck), I'm probably overdue for a reintroduction. I'm Sierra - Arizona elopement officiant and expert at finding a great rock to serve as a marriage certificate signing table 😉
I have a few wild stories (ask me about the time I had to drive to through a tornado warning to get to a location), but I absolutely love a relaxed, intimate ceremony out in nature and helping couples enjoy their wedding stress-free.
Fall-Winter is my favorite time for elopements here in Arizona, so claim your date ASAP if you want to get on my calendar!

Almost five years exactly after my own wedding at , I had the chance to visit the Meadow again to officiate for Jessica and Liz!
They included some really unique and special details, including planting a money tree during their ceremony!
I was also reunited with , BPFF (Best Photographer Friend Forever) and I don't think this could have been a more perfect day 🖤

What a week! From downpours up north to surprise weddings in the valley, the past seven days have been the best kind of (slightly chaotic) fun. I'm rounding off this weekend with a desert elopement in Tucson, and then it's off to a well earned nap!

It's a weird time in the wedding world...and that's ok!

As challenging as this year has been (and continues to be), I think there is a silver lining to be acknowledged. The past few years saw the wedding industry in a state of stagnation, ruled by a loss of passion and purpose. While it has certainly been uncomfortable (and to be honest, pretty terrifying!), the upheaval of 2020 may be exactly what we needed. I've seen more creativity and growth in the past few months than I've seen in years, and I anticipate we'll be seeing even more.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Due to the increasing threat of the coronavirus, Blackfern Events will be scaling back for the time being. As outlined by the CDC and the Governor of Arizona, I believe it is my obligation to stay at home and do my part in keeping us all safe and healthy. This isn't easy for anyone, particularly all of us in the small business community, but it is the right thing to do.
All physical events will be postponed through April 30. However, I will continue to work behind the scenes and remain available to each of you planning your weddings in the coming months.

Stay healthy, stay hopeful and we will all see brighter days soon.

What can you do to help others? What do you need to keep yourself healthy, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally?

Who said brides get to have all the fun?

Guys, this is your time to shine too! It's your wedding day and you look fancy af...make sure it's documented. My husband (who traditionally hates having his photo taken) loves his wedding portraits so much he actually uses one as his i.d. photo at work, and as a wife who can never sneak a good shot of him, I am just as excited about them!

If you're nervous about being natural in front of the camera, having a great photographer like to guide you will make the experience a blast and you'll come out looking like a pro. ✨
