Pinky cooks delicious, authentic Gujarati Mung Bean Dahl, a dish which is close to her heart. It is Pinkys favourite meal cooked by her mum since Pinky was a child. Pinky has three daughters, her two youngest we

re baby led weaned, and Mung Bean Dahl with rice (no chili's!) was their first meal at 6 months old. Every time Pinky cooks this dish up for Thursday deliveries and private events, she makes it with all the love and enthusiasm she has. Mung Bean Dahl is a traditional Gujarati dish (Gujarat is a state on the west coast of India), made with green mung beans which are a type of legume, packed with protein and nutrients. Along with mung beans, the Dahl is made with tomato & onions together with an array of spices, fresh ginger, garlic and green chilli infused together with lemon juice and a tiny spoon of raw cane sugar to create a delightfully tasty and filling dish. Pinky uses ORGANIC ingredients wherever possible and all packaging is COMMERCIALLY COMPOSTABLE. MENU:
Authentic mung bean dahl (Gujarati style)
Served with;
- Steamed brown basmati rice
- Plant based yoghurt (Coconut Collaborative) raita with organic cucumber and fresh ginger.
- Salsa style Indian salad made with organic red onions, tomatoes and cucumber.

What can I say, apart from a massive thank you for all the support and empty bowls after my first pop in over a year yesterday!

I received this review from a happy customer yesterday, and as usual, I cried😅

"I wouldn't change a thing - it was delicious.
It was beautifully presented and clearly great care had gone into the preparation of each component of the dish.
Worth every penny of £10...
Part of the pleasure of eating is seeing what you're eating and she mastered that elusive art of achieving the correct consistency of ingredient size and each ingredient belonged together.
The colours were lovely. You knew it would taste good."

I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my food with people, and it does something to my heart when I read stuff like this. Thank you again! I'm at .cafe again today if you missed out on my food yesterday 12 - 3pm and then if there is any left over, I will be offering my food tonight at the funk and soul event also at the commons cafe.
