A note for our merchants: If you send me a short text (in English) and picture of your wares before 1 August, Archeon will include this in their promotion of the event.

Working hard on the finalization of the planning for the viking week.
I am awaiting some final confirmations and details, but expect to be able to send out the confirmations (and sadly also some less good news) this weekend, but ultimately start next week.

We might have the option to sleep inside if you do not have a tent to sleep in or to stay longer after the event. If this is something your interested in, please mention this on your application so we can check the options with Archeon beforehand.

Was great to see all of you again!
I will send out the invitations for the viking week in August soon and am looking forward to seeing you all there again.
Luckily this time not a lot of lost and found items, only 1 bronze coloured earring at the Saturday party. Let me know if this might be yours.

It's going very fast with the applications this year and we're already over half of the maximum amount of participants we can host this ascension.

We have just sent out the invitations for the ascension event and you should receive this in your mailbox shortly.
Please take note of the following 2 changes for this event:
1. The "Grijze jager dagen" will no longer be on the same weekend
2. We have been growing in participants a lot in the last couple of years, which of course is great, but since we are becoming too full, Archeon has set a maximum amount of participants.
Please send in your application as soon as possible, but ultimately on 22 March.

Archeon found this lead mug after the viking week. Is this from any of the participants who were there?
Back home from a lovely week at Archeon.
Thank you all for making it such a fun, relaxed and as we say "gezellig" event 🥰
Tonight is the traditional caipirinha party at 19.30.
If you arrive after 19.00 we can be found at the Roman pool.
The fridges and freezer are set up in the Dorestad barn.
On the table next to it you can find bags, foil, film and stickers to package and mark your things with your name.
There are also some wipes and trash bags to keep everything tidy and clean.
Amazing weather for the start of the event.
I Will be at Dorestad so look me up for your spot and details :)
Just to make sure, the main changes are:
- First arrival date Monday 21 August (Sunday no one will be there and build up is not possible)
- Monday build up can be done from 11.00 AM onwards already
- There will be no ingredients for lunch/dinner, but fridges will be provided for your groceries
- No straw will be provided
- All participants will receive wrist bands to be able to get on the park during opening hours (to prevent confusion at the register with guests)
- Day guests have to arrive before opening hours (between 09.00 and 10.00).
- Arrival between Tuesday and Friday through the back entrance, access through main entrance only possible after 19.00 (please do not remove the red pole when driving over the bridge, this is bendable rubber and can be driven over).
- We will have our tent at the Dorestad - so you can find us there when you arrive or have questions.
The following will remain unaltered:
- Breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday
- Coffee and tea in the morning throughout the week
- Firewood provided
- BBQ/partynight on Saturday
- Orga party midweek - details will be shared later on
- Fight show on Saturday and Sunday at 14.00 in the Roman Arena
- From 21 August onwards we are at Archeon so will not check the email, contact us on Facebook or by whatsapp/phone.

Lastly we are very sad that we have had to reject some last minute applications since we are at capacity. So if you are not coming after all or with less tents or people, please let us know as soon as possible, so we might still be able to find a spot for these people.

Quick update for tonight:
It is very busy (over 3500 visitors) so we will not be able to open the gates sooner. We are in a different spot than plannen and you can find us on the boat field in front of the roman arena.

just did our final email check before the event so if you have any questions or updates, please send us a whatsapp message (or call if urgent).
as mentioned, we are very full this year so please make sure to come to us first for placement specification.

Just to make extra double sure: there are some changes this year. The most important are:
- Archeon will NOT supply ingrediënts for food. You will have to bring your own groceries.
- Archeon will give us some fridges we can use. There is limited space, so use them in a social way please.
- Archeon will NOT supply any straw.
- There will be breakfast every morning from 8.00-10.00 in the Roman Inn. This will be fully prepared by the Archeon staff, not by us.
Some things that didn't change but good to know:
- There will be a party night on saturday. Free drinks, NO BBQ
- There will be firewood available (dont take the stacks at the archeon houses)
- There is a sink behind the stable to wash your dishes.
- Rules for fighting: training with steel weapons from the age of 16. To be part of the fightshow you must be 18. No exceptions.

We are currently busy making the puzzle of planning in all the tents. We have a lot of applications, and limited space, so it takes a bit more time than usual.
If you feel there is an easy option for you or your group to downsize the amount or sizes of tents/canopies, please let us know.
We would love to be able to give all the 180 People who applied a space :)
There are also some beds available in the Roman inn (very comfy, next to the breakfast).
We'll keep you updated.

Today is the deadline for the applications for the Ascension weekend at Archeon.
If you have not yet applied, but would like to come, please send us the application form before the end of next week.

The invitations for the Ascension weekend have just been sent out to everyone. If you have not received yours, please let us know.
There are a couple of changes to the amenities:
Every event we throw away a lot of food since many of you bring your own, but we also can't predict the weather beforehand which influences cooking on events a lot.
To reduce this we've already started with the breakfast buffet, which we're definitely keeping. However we will not provide ingredients for lunch or dinner anymore. Archeon however will make sure there are fridges in the Dorestad where you can store any groceries if needed.
Of course the party night, firewood, showers etc. will still be available as usual.
One more adjustment is that we won't provide straw anymore. Most of us sleep on air matresses nowadays and it saves a lot of cleaning up and logistics.
