Dear all,
the invitations for the Archeon vikingweek in August have just been sent out and you should receive this shortly. I look forward to seeing a lot of you again soon :) !
I do want to make a note of some things that i've been seeing more and more over the last few events:
Participants bringing people that aren't on the list or switching out confirmed participants with others. I must know who is and isn't there and since we have been so full i often have to send people rejections. If someone can't make it, let me know as soon as possible so i might still make some people on the waiting list happy and if you would like to switch someone out, discuss this with me first as well since the waiting list comes first.
Participants bringing guests over. A reenactor can sign up as a day guest with me and then they can be added to the list for that day. Any other guests must pay the entrance fee and also leave when the park closes.
People leaving during the week or weekend without prior discussion. If you want to take a day trip during the week that is fine, but we cannot have people leaving with their tent/camp during the event and everyone is expected to be there for the audience at least the full weekend. If you would only be able to be there part of the week, please discuss with me beforehand and we can look at the options together.
I have always tried to be as flexible as possible, but the above has been happening more and more and this means people who might have been able to join can't, we end up with open spots in our encampments, the list doesn't reflect reality which could cause issues, and it creates a lot of additional work for me. So I will be more strict on the above.
