Happiness is... managing to plonk out a few more thousand words on the novel I'm not-writing. I've been not-writing it now for six years and I'm still on the first draft, but these people who inhabit it live in my head all. the. time. They're wonderful people dealing with life's trash and treasure as best they can, just like everyone else. It's set in Glasgow, and it's a bit of a love letter to the city. Maybe one day I'll finish it, it would be a shame for no one else to know their triumphs.

So happy to see this script come to life. It might be a personal take by Tracy on mid-life, but the themes and thoughts are universal. Even as the director, I thoroughly recommend it.

I'd like especially to reach out to our non-traditional families - rainbow families, single parents, grandparents bringing up grandies etc - families take many forms and I want to represent us all. Kehau Jackson, comedian - both funny and beautiful. When I photograph someone I want them to see the beauty in themselves that I see. Might sound cheesy but it's true, and that's why portraits and headshots are always my first loves in photography.

Heads up folks, this is what you'll be hearing from me in the next month and a half.
As you may know, my lovely Steven has been living with an incurable prostate cancer diagnosis since late 2018. Every day we live with the words of the clinician "With the right treatment you can have a few good years yet.
I'm tired of feeling like we're at the mercy of this awful disease, so to help at least a bit, I'm doing the Walk for Him challenge to help raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
The team there does great work to support families like ours whose loved one is dealing with this wretch of a killer.
Here's the proposition; by the end of Men's Health Week (21 June) I will have walked at least 49000 steps.
I know it doesn't seem so much for such a long period of time, but after taking a year to heal my leg and ankle after a bad fall last year, I've only been able to walk properly for a few months now, so I'm taking this opportunity to (slowly) kick prostate cancer's arse.
If you have something to spare, please donate via my Walk for Him page. If you don't, please spread the word - it all helps. And if you're a bloke over 40, please make sure your gp is monitoring your PSA - get the bloods done!
