I’m absolutely delighted to say that after over a decade I’ll be returning to the theatre stage 🎭 with the best group of people, for the best of causes.

As a child I spent all my Sundays as a member of SONG, whilst studying performing arts at Southport College my week consisted of day time rehearsals followed by evenings with Southport Spotlights Musical Theatre Society & Southport Little Theatre -Southport Dramatic Club.

My very last role was that of Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde with Official Maghull Musical Theatre Company some 12 years ago 😳😬

Theatre shows require serious commitment and since retuning to the UK I’ve just never really felt like I could give myself fully to a project, it’s wasn’t the right time, the show or the right people. But when I heard Queenscourt Musical Theatre Company were creating a production to raise money for Queenscourt Hospice to quote Anna from frozen “for the first time in forever” the stars seemed to align.

The production team kindly allowed me to audition ahead of my departure for Australia and I’ve just come to learn I secured a place in a cast of frankly superb performers-I couldn’t be happier 💜

Many of you know I’ve supported Queenscourt heavily this year by way of hosting at their Strictly for queenscourt event, performing at IWD & holding fundraisers across my social platforms, the reason for this is I wish to thank them in some small way for the care and kindness they gave to my late friend (and dance teacher) Joyce Court & her family in her last days, equally my close friend Hayley is now at the helm with some of the community fund raising (so she asks… I do 😂)

This project however will be really special for me, a chance to get back to doing what I love, with people I’ve not performed with since I was a kid…and I FINALLY get to share a stage with my great friend John Coates! (Is the world even ready for that?!?)😂

It would mean the world to me if you took time to like and share their page/event details. Even if not locally in the Southport area some of your friends or family may find this of interest and want to attend.

You’re my world 🌎 ❤️ - Kelly Bond Version

You say "You're My World" and everyone automatically thinks Cilla Black, but her version was actually a cover of Italian ballad "Il mio mondo" by Umberto Bindi (never heard it? Go listen it’s beautiful) 😍

I was asked to learn this song by family friends as their wedding song some years back and when searching for a track I found covers by Tom Jones and two of my vocal hero’s Joe Longthorne and (the queen herself) Jane McDonald…

I’ll give you 3 guesses as to who I chose to channel in my own version 😉

Since the Wedding of Julie & Steve I’ve been asked to sing this so many times for brides and grooms as they take to the floor for their first dance, but I’ll always remember the first time I sang it for them, being petrified of this huge song and just praying I did it justice for them, every time I hear it I think of them beaming from ear to ear on the self made dance floor of the The Fishermens Rest & them giving me the biggest hug ever after the song ended👰‍♀️ 🤵‍♂️ 💃🏻

I chose to record this to dedicate to them after what has been a very difficult year, I hope that hearing this song reminds them of what was such a beautiful day - equally I thank them for forcing me to learn a song I had feared for so long, it’s now one of my anthems ❤️

I got close to telling her how incredible I thought she was when asked to appear on the Jane Macdonald show 4 years ago … only on the day of filming I was pipped to the post, I’m not bitter though - promise 🙄

I’ve ticked all bar one from the Bucket list this year - but still yet to connect with my absolute G.O.A.T 😔

High Park Christmas Tree lights switch on event on the evening of Friday 24th November 2023 outside One Stop Convenience Stores.

- From 5:30pm we'll have Southport Salvation Army brass band playing traditional Christmas Carols with choir members from St Simon and St Jude with All Souls and Canning Road Evangelical Church.
- At 6:15 we'll switch the tree on!
- Then from 6:15-6:45 the fabulous Kelly Bond will be singing Christmas Pop hits.
Throughout we will have a visit from Santa in his grotto!

Local businesses will be open including Flight 22 providing a festive menu, with The Sandwich Place and Queenscourt Hospice on Bispham Road staying open late too!

Sefton Council Norwood ward councillors funds are paying for the tree and switch on and Brighter Living Partnership High Park: Think Family, Think Community Project providing funding for the event activities.

The weather report looks good for the event which is great so we're really looking forward to it! Hope to see you there! 😁

This year I’m back hosting the Southport Flower Show Ladies Day 🌸 🎶 💃🏻 🎤 👗 It’s been such a wonderful opportunity to work alongside the SFS team and we are delighted to share news of the (almost sold out) event 🤩

(My alliteration skills ran away with me in my recent interview with Stand Up For Southport) but it couldn’t describe what we are are going for this year: Fizz, Food, Fashion, Fun & Famous Faces 🤩 two of which being our incredible compères Claire Simmo & Paul Crone 👏

Recently I heard a word that rendered me speechless… and will leave me that way for a good few weeks : Nodules.

Last time I heard that word 11 years ago it resulted in surgery and an early retirement from full time performance.

I recovered over time and returned to some singing, but sadly due to overworking my voice in recent months I’ve buggered myself…again.

Laryngoscopy,Steroids, Speech therapy on the cards next week, I’m living a Disney nightmare as a voiceless Ariel whilst my Prince Eric (Shaun) has to bring his charades A Game 😂 ahhh…if you don’t laugh you cry.

So, contrary to the words of Marvin Gaye “if you need me call me”…please don’t 😂

I’m on mute ❤️ … but rest assured all imminent gigs have been covered or postponed, I’d never let anyone down 🥰

Having rested my chords in recovery from laryngitis I’m easing back in with a few gigs speckled here and there for the months of June & July, some of my usual hang outs The Woollen Pig, Bold Hotel/ Salfordian Hotel, some first time appearances at Hickory's Smokehouse Southport and The Spitfire Pub & Kitchen and perhaps one I’m particularly proud to be a part of … Southports very 1st official Pride event Sefton Pride 🌈 🎶 💃🏻 (located at Victoria Park, Southport)
