Aubrey and Mark’s wedding is near the bottom of my editing queue, as it was my last wedding this fall. However, it serves as a beautiful reminder of what awaits me next season: lovely places and wonderful people. The beautiful handfasting ceremony! 🤝 Many couples are requesting this beautiful ceremony, and why not?!? It brings back a unique style and symbolizes a ceremony that truly showcases a couple uniting as one. Handfasting is one of my favorite ceremonies to perform. Jen and Nick were such a breeze to work with. We stayed in a local park, walk around, talked, laughed, and walked away with a gallery I can truly be proud of. I’m holding back from sharing all of it. I am a little behind on posting from my recent weddings and sessions, but let me take you back to April when nature was about to wake up, and Bryan with Tara tied a knot. Not only was this wedding at one of my favorite venues, but you’d be pressed to find another couple as genuine, graceful, and kind as these two. What an amazing day! This wedding was unique in every detail. I love the memories we created. It was an honor. 🫶🏻

This might a a controversial opinion, one you definitely need not heed. I am a big proponent of first looks. Not just specifically between the two getting married (although that too), but with close members of the family, and wedding party. Yes, as a wedding photographer, I love that first looks lend to the overall quality of your gallery, but more importantly, for you, first looks create a window of emotional openness, vulnerability. I see it as a form of gratitude, a way of saying “You of all people, earned the right to see me before anyone else.” That little bit of one on one time is special, it is a core memory worthy, once in a lifetime opportunity. I am a big fan, and would love to see more of it. 🙂 #firstlook #firstlooks
