Holiday Workshop Just for Mothers

This cozy workshop is a chance to pause during the crazy time, alongside other mothers who share your desire for ease, warmth, tradition, joy, and connection in this frenzied season. Together, we will discuss hopes & challenges, idea-share, and create small do-able actions to make sure we don't miss out on the magic in the coming weeks.

Dear Friends of the Sandbox,

We've come to the decision to formally close the Sandbox doors on Gibson Avenue. It just isn't time yet for being close together, touching, moving, climbing and sharing the way we do in the playspace. Sadly, we had to make the only sound financial choice - to surrender this special space.

What an honor it was to be your place!

My original intention was for the Sandbox to be a little oasis. A place to simply enjoy being in the company of our playing children - to be away from the demands and distractions of everyday life. A place to be surrounded by those who understand sleepless nights and limitless love - to share our awe, frustrations, celebrations and our mealtime war stories. A place where the only phone you needed to answer was a wooden banana. I hope it has been that place for you.

We are grateful for the time we spent together. Grateful for the special people we've known through the Sandbox and the beautiful connections we've woven together through these nearly 7 years. Together, with you, we form the fabric of motherhood in our community. Thank you for being my friends!

For Rob and I, it is a new season and a chance to explore work that's been tugging at our hearts. We move forward with eager anticipation.

Still, there is not a substitute for connections formed when we are physically together, especially between mothers. More than ever, the Sandbox is needed, necessary and relevant. When the time becomes right, I hope to help another woman open a space like the Sandbox. I would love to hand my knowledge along. If you are that person, or you know her, I would be very grateful for the introduction.

In the meantime, please let's stay in touch. I will be back soon to offer new opportunities for us to continue the journey of motherhood together.

We are offering the side room of the Sandbox for rental as private use office space to help us offset our rent payment while we are temporarily closed for business. After serious soul-searching and closely monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 virus, we’ve decided to suspend open play for the time being. We will carefully consider and look forward to when the time feels right to reopen our doors.

Even more than normal, we are all needing what I hope you get here at the playspace - a pause from overwhelm & distraction - a chance to take a deep breath of simplicity, play & connection.

While we all turn inward at this time, I would like to continue to help you hold these most important values. I am building a virtual resource hub of goodies that will be ready for your access next week. Imagine connection, balance, staying centered, filtering fear for our children, finding rhythm, being in a healthy relationship with your screen use and having a boatload of unplugged play ideas to enjoy together. You may know, this is a project I’ve had on my heart for a long time. I hope you love it.

We are all interconnected and like many of you, with the door closed, this will be a difficult financial time for our family. Here are a few ways you can be a friend to the sandbox - helping us stay strong and open fresh soon.
