SPiLL is coming up this Tuesday, 11/19!! SPiLL is special to me because it's less about having a party and more about sharing space with your lgbtqia+ neighbors. Now more than ever, q***r joy and community are resistance; if you are feeling the need to be around folks without the pressure to party a certain way, SPiLL was made with you in mind.

(that said, if we decide a little cathartic dancing is in order, we can do that, too!)

We've got space, music, games, tea, and occasionally 1 very royal cat. 21+, BYO if you're feeling like a beverage. We encourage bringing snacks with labeled instructions or any other shareables.

SPiLL is on the second floor of West Art , 816 Buchanan Ave. Lancaster, PA. 6-9 PM EST. Entrance is $7; we will not turn anyone away for lack of funds.

HUGE thanks to Susquehanna River Creative Conspiracy's Chris and TJ for helping me pivot Devil's Night to a new spot and for getting the folks from DiFrancesco Meadery in the loop for folks' drinkin' desires. And thanks to Dan for all his help getting me connected with TJ on such short notice.

On Wednesday, we (Stygian, Nebula, and Ate) reached out to the owners and creative director of Little Mutants and requested an all-hands meeting regarding interpersonal and operational choices which hurt or alienated staff, talent, and attendees over the past 4+ months. We requested an invitation to meet also be extended to a number of former staff, investors, talent, and customers whose personal accounts we’ve collected so they could be heard as well.

This was an attempted call-in and we hoped we would at least be given the courtesy of a face-to-face meeting. Instead, the creative director said they felt it would be “disrespectful to re-open any emotional wounds relating to operations given the circumstances.”

We believe it is just as - if not more disrespectful - for them and one of the owners to repeatedly dodge or reject opportunities to address issues ranging from poor communication to failure to implement basic harm reduction/safety policies to alleged financial mismanagement to outright lying to our and our colleagues’ faces about all of the above.

We believe it is more disrespectful to repeatedly center themselves when confronted.

We believe it is more disrespectful to say they’d be re-opening wounds they only acknowledge when convenient for them.

We believe their and one of the owners’ behavior is more disrespectful than accountability and change could ever be, and their refusal of both says everything.

We are choosing to leave Little Mutants effective immediately. STYGIAN will likewise be pulling Shadowland and the 10/30 Tassel/Russian White/La Cabra show. We’re heartbroken to see a space we felt was safe be bled dry by others’ poor choices and will miss the chaotic joy RE/POSE represented to us.

If you have any questions, please reach out. If you can think of a q***r-affirming space you think can handle us at our most blue bathroom - especially weekly - we’re all ears.

TONIGHT, 10/12: BITE CLUB presents CREATURES OF THE NIGHT hosted by Lady V!!

Give a hoot this Halloween season at The Nest for the highest energy fe**sh event in the world coming to the city that bites you back for the first time!

Calling all pets, primals, fur-esque, and creepy cryptids, get four on the floor for BITE CLUB. This Bite Club's theme is Monsters, Cryptids, & Creepy Things! Dress up as your favorite nocturnal animal, monster, or any creature!

The first rule of BITE CLUB is to wipe your paws off before you hit the mat. You are not required to fight; this is a great night to perv & watch your friends play.

Bite Club Showdown commences at 9:00 pm 🐾
Costume Contest at 10:00 PM
Costuming is not required but strongly encouraged. Animal-themed clothing/lingerie, wrestling clothes, costumes. animal ears, fur, or all black is strongly encouraged!

Join us at West Art for the ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of SPiLL: a sober-ish q***r social featuring tea, talk, and tunes! Inspired by gay tea dances of the 1950s, SPiLL is a 21+ BYO social with one goal: the creation of a space to do q***r joy free from judgment. We provide the space and sound, you provide stuff to do, be it solo, with others, or as chill parallel play!
REMINDER: moving forward, SPiLL will run 6 - 9PM. We are also adjusting our format and will be playing tunes from a (curated) playlist from 6-8 and STYGIAN will DJ 8ish - 9PM. We feel these changes better align with our attendees’ schedules, are more copacetic with a Tuesday evening’s *~energy~*, and allow good boy Styg (that’s me!) to get to hang out, too.

-Not sure what you can bring? Here are some ideas: zine/collage supplies, relatively not-messy art stuff, kandi materials, games, knitting/felting/quilting, yoga mats, etc.

-Simply want to show up? Please do! Bring your Switch, your current crochet project, or word search/sudoku/crossword that's been giving you trouble.

-From 8-9, I will play an eclectic mix of pride hits, dance pop, disco and other upbeat/chill vibes at a level that allows folks to chat, share skills, or vibe!

-There is a cat. His name is Prince Sidon (aka Princetopher) and he is very food-motivated.

This is a BYO event, so come with your photo ID and whatever tasty beverages you have in mind. Share or get your personal sip on. We'll have hot water and basic teas on hand for folks lookin' for a hot-up. Guests are also welcome to bring snacks to share; please label ingredients for allergens.

You + me + Thursdays at Little Mutants = Q***R NIGHT!! Wait a minute... that's TODAY, 10/10! Come say hello and get your pre-weekend pregame on! I’ll be in the DJ booth all night long spinning an eclectic mix of pride hits, q***r and trans artists, new relevant finds, and anything else that gets you groovin’: pop, disco, house, ballroom, electronica - it's all on the table, bb.

6-8PM EST is our happy hour with weekly drink specials AND it’s free to enter. After 8PM, admission is $8 (notaflof).

9-10PM is RE/POSE, our weekly drag show with NEBULA and ATE! This week’s guest is MENTALIA DECAY!

10pm-12am we’re back to dancin’ with a lil pop-up drag sprinkled in around 11 (except for 4th thursdays - they’re a lil different). Bring your ones, fives, and big ol' bills and tip! your! talent AND your bartenders!!
