I am blown away by this review!! Many thanks to Rob Bowman.

"Lori Yates' first album in eight years, Matador, sparkles with seductive grooves, wonderfully inventive melodies and finely crafted, emotive-filled, country-inflected vocals. Highlights include the title song, lamenting the loss of Toronto's fabled after-hours haunt, the Matador Ballroom, and the shimmering, wistful opener, "What a Life." Matador is, so far, my favourite album of the year. It just may well be yours too."

Rob Bowman, Grammy-winning Professor of Music

Hey, you!

I wanted to share this super cool class I've put together.

It's an online class that features simple writing exercises and lyrical prompts to inspire your imagination and reawaken your creativity. $25 per class. Zoom. Monday, August 15, 8-9 pm. No experience is necessary!

And for me, I have been laying low, writing and recording some of the best songs of my life. The record is almost finished. I've started putting my stories into a memoir - this is equally satisfying and terrifying! Lol. Wish me luck.

Please send me an email: [email protected]
