Well babes...it was quite the summer around here! So many stunning moments and wonderful humans. So many dinner diet cokes, good bye hugs, and drive home bundtinis.

I feel like it should still be July yet here we are nearly halfway through October already celebrating with fall clients while sobbing over summer photo galleries arriving from photogs. I simply can't believe season ten is almost over.

garden party spicy margs anyone?

this couple had two things they wanted from their wedding- a beautiful spring whimsical garden, and excellent food and drink for their guests.

knowing those two things i threw in a few special details and these darling edible floral drink garnishes are definitely still at the top of my favorite ever detail-embellishments-compliments-of-the-wedding-planner list.

It's the busiest time of year here for ATE, until October it's truly the most wonderful time of the year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our nanny has had the week off as her fall sports season has begun which has made work a little hectic this week. She'll be back next week so communication will pick up significantly. School for my kiddos is starting soon & I have a big milestone this year with my youngest heading off to kindergarten so I am also looking ahead to what that means for my work life and planning out a whole new schedule while working hard on a dream ATE project behind the scenes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With it being the craziest time of year I find it odd that it is also the time of year where I find myself deep in reflection. Maybe its the lack of sleep? We had the most beautiful sunset of the year for golden hour with my couple on Saturday. That truly golden late summer sun, the leaves ever so slightly beginning to change, and a few beginning to fall. It has seemed to summon the feeling to begin preparing for the turning of the season, the closing of the 10th year of Amber Terese weddings (although we're running right up to 2025 this year with a fabulous New Years Eve wedding), and the preparation for the next year's weddings. It's also a time I tend to be in my feels as we come upon the 5 year anniversary of very suddenly and very unexpectedly welcoming 3 small children into our home when they needed one, beginning one of the most difficult and rewarding journeys of my life. Which deepens my gratitude for the couples that choose to work with Amber Terese Events more immensely with each year that passes.

While the schedule is hectic right now, the overwhelm is real, the exhaustion hangs on for days, and at times it all feels like too much...
I am able to give my children a beautiful joy filled life because you trust me with one of the biggest days of yours.

A gorgeous and spacious suite at a venue is what wedding day dreams are made of.

Getting ready suites can be found at many venues and can sometimes be overlooked in those early stages of deciding where you will say "I do", but they can end up being spaces that you will spend a lot of time in the day of your wedding so thinking about them as a key piece of the day is important.
What do I look for in a top tier getting ready space? I'll tell you:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ample space for hair and makeup artists to glam everyone, space for everyone's accoutrements (aka bagsonbagsonbags)
✨having breakfast/lunch spreads and champagne and mimosa fixings easily available with plenty of space is a huge bonus, and pro tip- if the space has an in house caterer that can provide the food and beverage (and more importantly the clean up) it is such a weight lifted for everyone and will be so much easier on the backend of the day.
✨natural light filled spaces will make you the fave client of your hair and makeup team as well as your media team
✨outdoor access, this is perfect for sneaking in portraits, pj/robe shots, first looks, or just some quiet deep breaths to soak it all in

Today Amber Terese Events celebrates
✨ 1 0 Y E A R S ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
to think about the “what if” years when friends said this was a thing i should make a business. to the insane early years when I was doing 80-90 weddings a year, and how the company and myself have grown and changed. it’s fun to think about the trends that have come and gone. the vendors and venues and people i’ve gotten to meet over the years so many of whom i call my friends today. the high fives from the groomsmen. the hugs from moms and dads. the brides that have stuck around as friends or employees. the excitement of the photo and video teams when we get a once in a lifetime shot for our couple. fluffing that train for the last time. the highs and the lows that come with such an emotional day. it’s all a dream.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
but what i find myself thinking about the most is that i truly cannot find a word that conveys deeply enough how grateful i am for every client, vendor friend, venue friend, those i haven’t gotten to work with yet, and my friends and family as well who have cheered me on along the way. what started as an “if i could be anything i would be a wedding planner” type of thing, and something i was naturally good at after being in so many weddings and doing hair and makeup in the industry for many years has grown into a career and company i could have never imagined 10 years ago today when i registered that first llc and became “official”.

i am forever changed because i have been lucky enough to know you all.

local blooms 🌸 repurposing florals 💐 wildflower seed place cards

We’ve been loving the incredible way florists are using more and more local blooms from flower farms that are popping up all over the state (yes even in MN ❄️) At the end of your wedding you can you can utilize an awesome charity such as Twofold Blooms to donate and repurpose your wedding florals for arrangements for those in memory care and care centers, getting the most use out of all those florals and lessening the environmental impacts.

The incredible amount of flowers went from adorning this show stopping wedding to brightening the day of over 250 seniors 🌹💐🌷🌸
