AFTER DARK

Inspired by a desire to promote melodic driven underground music to the lesser exposed cities in China; Simtub and Mark Yip created the After Dark series of mix sessions in the summer of 2016 in Wuhan. Growing up in the UK during the heydays of the hacienda movement in Northern England and amidst the rise of the underground Rave scenes, both residents were highly influenced by the sound of that era. It led them to express and share a deep emotive connection to the edgier side of electronic music including Techno, Deep House, Progressive, Melodic and Leftfield genres. Ultimately the desire to play out to crowds and move people with music led them to take up DJing and promoting. “We hope to introduce through After Dark Sessions our curated selection of music and Artists/DJ’s to new audiences in cities around Asia and the rest of the World.”
