Katie and Andy planned their intimate wedding at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and traveled all the way from Indianna to do it.
It was important to them to capture them to capture the dreamy portraits they had always envisioned on the cliffs but stay true to the intentional and relaxed wedding celebration they always wanted. So instead of trying to cram it all in on one night, they’re split their celebration into two days. And it was the best of both worlds.
Day one, Katie got the dream ceremony and sunset session on the cliffs of San Diego. We met Katie at her hotel for getting ready photos and first looks with dad and the important women in her life.
We hopped in the car and drove to Sunset Cliffs for their ceremony. Their vows were some of the most thoughtful and heartfelt commitments I’ve ever witnessed. Surrounded by a total of 10 of their closest friends and family, the 12 long months of preparing and planning for this day from an entirely different state had finally come full circle. The four of us finished off the day with the most romantic sunset session. The love and friendship between these two was evident.

Okay this is so important and I need you guys to read this. Anissa and Ramiro had a very intimate ceremony in the woods. With everything going on they just wanted to be married. When we first talked they weren’t really sure how to make such a simple day reflect their personalities and relationship. But... I learned that they love Italian food. I learned that a lot of their date nights looked like jam sessions to their favorite music in the car. That they spent so much time doing this that Anissa would decorate the inside of the cab with little lights. I learned that they are shy and don’t like to be the center of attention and would be saying their vows during their ceremony. So in this little video you’ll see elements of all of these things that make their relationship unique incorporated. For their portrait session after the ceremony, they decided to have a picnic by the lake. We picked up Italian food for take-out, they brought strings lights, they privately read their vows to each other, and had their first dance as their song played from a Bluetooth speaker. It was amazing and it was them. I know this season is so hard on you couples. Dreams have been crushed, and tears have been shed. I sympathize with you. But don’t forget this is about you. This day is about you two. It doesn’t matter what your day looks like, let’s make it one that’s you. It can still be a day you’ll always remember. 🖤
