My longtime friend and area radio legend “Billy Ray” stopped into my gig Thursday night. He reminded me of a show I played many years ago at the Bell County Expo Center with country artist Dan Seals, where Billy Ray was the announcer and emcee for the night.

Here’s a newspaper story from my Kickboxing career. I was training for my 14th fight. I won my title shortly after this. These days I go to the gym and punch the bag, but it feels like my arms are moving in slow motion! Lol. It’s amazing how 30 years changes everything. I never thought it would. It does.

For my birthday in September I had to take a physical to renew a life insurance policy. When the blood work came back I nearly fainted!! Too many midnight trips to What-a-burger after a gig had put me in a SUPER SIZED, very unhealthy condition. I dug my running shoes out that day and dusted my old bicycle off. I started getting back in “fighting shape” working out everyday. Since that day I’ve lost 60 pounds and I’m back to riding the bike fast like I used to. Thank you Jesus.

Last show at the coast of Texas tonight and I get to head back to my regular gigs tomorrow. The three busses in this picture belong to Creed Fisher (the newest bus), and the other two are Roger Creager and Kevin Fowler. Those three are the main stage feature acts tonight. Last act goes on stage at midnight. We are sound checking now, which is the time of the day the musicians from other bands get to meet each other - my favorite time! These festivals are really fun to play, but they are a ton of work playing multiple days like I do.

It's Beach Time Again for our annual Rockin' Rick Beach Bash at beautiful Surfside Beach, Texas. Friends and fans get to enjoy some sand and surf along with great music and delicious seafood on the beach. The spot is Beachfront Resort, but it is usually sold out, so book a room in nearby Lake Jackson and come party!
