Hey there everyone!

I’ve been active on Threads over the past 8 or so months and met a bunch of incredibly talented artists, which have led to some really wonderful collaborations/remixes! The most recent of these has been a liquid d&b take on The Real Runna’s “The Wind Will Sing Your Name” which she released on her Bandcamp page last night! I’ve given it the Cinematic Soul/Fast Soul Music treatment and it’s already getting some warm reception! So we’d love you to give it a listen when you’ve got a moment. Plans afoot to give it a full release through streaming but for now, Bandcamp is where it’s at! ✨♥️👇🏾

Celebrating the 14th anniversary of my debut LP today!

So grateful for the opportunity to pull these songs together and work with some amazing musicians to make it a reality. Not on Threads but shouts to and for lending your voices! 👊🏾

Hey Everyone!

Been pretty quiet on here as of late. Plenty of family responsibilities and life to get on with by me these days! Just wanted to check in to say I’m still here and still making music as usual in the in between moments!

Hopefully you’ll have had a moment to check out my remix of ’s beautiful song Push & Pull (and if not, you know what to do!)

Other than having that privilege, I’ve been working on some collaborations with other folks from Threads and a former colleague of mine who makes incredible music too! All this in addition to work for the next album, which is coming along a bit slower than I’d have hoped but I’d rather make my best than rush it and regret.

If we haven’t caught up in a while, come and say hi - Here or on Threads, where I’m dropping little previews of bits first amongst some wonderful music makers too.

I took this photo 4 years ago today. It went on to become the cover art of the first of my 3-part EP, Liminal Space. I had no idea that I would make the music at the time but it was a fun little journey getting there. For the Music Threads folks who might be interested,

This is The Story Behind… Carcavelos (and Liminal Space EP Part 1 came to be!)

February 2020, my wife, unborn son and I went to friends’ wedding in Portugal 🇵🇹! We had a fantastic time and figured it’d be safe, as we hadn’t had a pandemic before… After the wedding we took a day trip to a nearby beach and I decided to take some field recordings in addition to some (read many) photos. After a few days in Lisbon and more field recordings in the city we went home…

Aaaaaand lockdown. Everything naturally ground to a halt while we figured out what life looked like and a few months in I started to make some beats which I named the “Isolation Riddims”. One of which used one of the beach field recordings and featured a synth loop and some electric piano chords… nice but it got shelved while I live streamed DJ sets and decorated the nursery…

Fast forward another few months and I pick up the Isolation Riddims including a film-score-type overture and a dubstep/brass band mashup, along with that first tune, that my infant son is now dancing along to the demo for in his baby bouncer and Part 1 of the Liminal Space EP is born! It was a powerful way to catalogue our family journey and prayers during one of the darkest times in living memory & whether many or few listen, it’ll always be a special record for me.

You’ve shown such courage and determination through what has been a difficult year and I’m so proud of all you’ve acheived in spite of it all. Last week I polled my socials to see if there was any interest amongst my supporters for free music ahead of Christmas! The response was a resounding ‘YES’ and so to that end, I’ve popped a new piece of music onto my Bandcamp for anyone who wants it. Gratis! ‘Wonders Above, Signs Below’ is a suitably festive ambient/downtempo tune, perfect for winter evenings and the reflective listener!

My final single of the year is out today on Bandcamp!

Originating as part of a theatre score but finding its full potential as a drum & bass opus, Colliding Reveries is probably my most ambitious release to date. I hope you dig it!
