We wanted to offer two very different options that will appeal to different people’s idea of Fun.
Disparate Fun will have two options.
5K
Race, run or hike the 5K+ loop.
50K Pay Your Dues
This is where things get interesting. This is not a TPK original idea but we loved it some much we had to offer our own.
Much like a backyard ultra or last man standing style event, runners must run a 5K+ loop on the hour. They will need to finish within an hour and be ready to go on the next hour to do it all over again. This will be done 5 times, so hour 0(zero), 1, 2, 3 and hour 4 totaling ~16 miles. All that is like a buy-in aka paying your dues for the actual race. On hour 5 every one that has finished paying their dues will start the ~14.5 mile loop. Placement is determined by finishing order on the final loop.

♦️The Run the Jewels Trail Race is made up of 5 out and back routes. Each route is fully marked with different colors per route. The total distance covered will be 60K or 37-ish miles on rugged and technical trails with +7000ft of elevation gain. What’s with the name? At the end of each route you will collect a “jewel”. Each route is considered complete once you make it back to base camp.
♦️Course Details
We have designed the routes to include the most challenging sections that the Allamuchy State Park has to offer. Plus a few gems within the Scout property that you normal wouldn’t get to run on.
Everyone will start on the same route but after that you get to choose what order you complete the rest in. We will not tell you which route you are doing first until race day. We will have a map posted at basecamp showing all the routes. This way you will have an idea of where each route will take you.
♦️Awards
We will have custom awards for all finishers. We will also have podium awards for top 3 male and top 3 female.

Let’s Talk about Adventurous AF! Adventurous AF Trail Race 5K - 6 Hour 🗓️April 13th, 2024 📍 Sparta Glen Park 36 Glen Rd Sparta, NJ 07871 🔵Race Summary: Adventurous AF is an amazing 5K course. These trails are rugged, brutal and beautiful. Sparta Glen Park is not a very big trail network but we managed to put together a tough course that will get you +820ft of elevation gain per loop. You can choose to sign up for a single 5 km loop or go for as many loops as possible in 6 hours. Awards: We will have custom awards for all finishers. We will also have podium awards for top 3 male and top 3 female for the 5K and 6 hour options. We will have special milestone awards for individuals that hit 7 laps(35K) and 10 laps(50K) within 6 hours. Well, NJ in early March could be cold, cool, or warm-ish. There could be rain, sleet or snow. The name FAFO stands for F Around and Find Out. FAFO is inviting you to sign up, show up and find out. The course is made up of two separate out and backs roughly totaling 22 miles with approximately 4400ft of elevation gain. The first out and back will drop you into Ghost Lake to Shades of Death Road. Next will be the Jenny Jump Trail with fast smooth sections as well as rocky outcroppings and boulder lines. As you run across the top portion of the Jenny Jump ridge you will have panoramic views of the Highlands, Kittatinny Mountains and Valley on the west side and views of the Great Meadows on the east. @ultrasignup link is in our bio! Our competitors…uh, campers will complete and compete in a series of physical and mental challenges over the duration of the event. This event is designed to be a stepping stone into our TPK Endurance event. This event is 12-15 hours long and will not have the Rubik’s Cube. I know, sorry. You will start this event as a group and for certain tasks you may be broken off into smaller groups of 2-4 people. The goal is to get you to work together as a team, communicate, problem solve and put in some hard work. Ultimately, wear you out physically and mentally before the individual race aspect begins. Skills needed: Navigation Landscaping Outdoorsy things Able to carry heavy and awkward weight. Problem solver Gear List: Backpack/Ruck Weight Plate: 30# Men and 20# Women Hydration Bladder 2L or 3L recommended Headlamp (extra batteries) Basic First Aid Kit Enough food and water to survive for 12+ hours Basic Watch(NO GPS ALLOWED, NO STEP COUNTER) Compass 2 glow sticks Safety Whistle Multi-tool or knife Pen and Fine Point Sharpie Paper Prohibited Items: Any device with GPS or equivalent Functionality Cell Phones, Radios, or equivalent technology Calculators Notes: -You will have a drop area to store extra food, water and extra gear. -ALL gear list items will remain in the pack at all times, expect when being used.
