An event for the WHOLE FAMILY!

Käringsund Triathlon is not only for mom, or dad or for the sporty brother! Käringsund Triathlon is for the WHOLE FAMILY!

👨‍👩‍👧The whole family can participate in the race, or the rest of the family can follow the race from the terrace!
👨‍👨‍👦The whole family can attend for example the pasta party and the bbq- buffet, regardless if they participate in the competition or are there as an audience!
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦The whole family can, and will have a lovely weekend in Käringsund at the end of August!

NEW! Competition class also for adults at 10km!

Despite the name of the event you can also choose shorter distances, for example our third distance that is MILEN, aka 10km!

If you choose Milen you will run just over 2 laps along our course as follows:
Lap 1: 598m
Lap 2-3: 2 full laps, that is 2x 4701m = 9402m
589m + 9402m = 10000m --> that is 10 kilometers!

The MILEN have to following CLASSES:
👟 Boys/ girls 19 (born 2006 or later)
👟 Competition men/ women (all ages) NEW!
👟 Open class (all ages)

In exactly two months, that is 7.6.2025, have:

🛥all the boats returned from a final day of competition
🐟the last fish have been submitted and weighed
🏆the final prizes been handed out
🍻all participants gathered for a final dinner together

But before that we will have had great days together with i.a. three days of fishing, several weigh-ins, dinners, prize award ceremonies and the opportunity to socialize and "träffa" each other to create new great memories to take home with you!

2 fish/ team/ day - also WITH the FAT FIN!

A little reminder about one of the competition rules that was presented in January ,and that is SALMON WITH the FAT FIN can also be caught this year. 🎣

2025 we will go back to the rules we had in 2022-2023 which for the Åland Islands means that we have no restrictions on recreational salmon fishing between 1.5-31.8 in the area north of latitude 59° 30′ N within the 4 nautical miles measured from the baseline.

In the competition we will have the same rule we had in 2023 and that is the teams can weigh in 2 salmon/ team/ day!
The teams have the right to catch as many salmon as they can and want. All salmon are reported via FishyApp, and then the team chooses which two salmon are weighed in!

We want to remind you that no participation fee will be paid when registering before we know that the event is being arranged, payment information will be sent to those registered when 180 registered participants have been reached!

So, what is this Käringsundsloppet and Tour d Archipedalo?

It´s a weekend filled with fantastic cycling along the partly red roads at Åland Islands 🇦🇽
With a relatively flat landscape, short distances, most hours of sunshine in the Nordic region and a well-developed road network that extends both above the main island and the archipelago Aland Island is made for cycling. On the more than 1000 km of public roads in the Åland Islands you can see everything from families with children on cycling holiday to competitive cyclists who want to quickly get to the finish line.

The TOUR d ARCHIPEDALO on Saturday 28.6.2025 includes i.a the following:

🚴‍♀️170km cycling, on both the main island and in the archipelago
🚴‍♀️No official timing but possibility to compete via Strava
🚴‍♀️Lunch during the day
🚴‍♀️After bike by the sea with sauna and grilled light evening meal
🚴‍♀️Free cycling on Sunday

Sunday-cycling 29.6.2025 includes following:

🚴‍♀️ 30, 80 or 100km "Sunday cycling" together in groups
🚴‍♀️ Access to sauna by the sea after Sunday’s cycling

And the DISTANCES ARE...

The distances this year are 1km, 4,5km and 12km. The two longer distances in varying terrain along historical paths in a mighty landscape. The 1km Mini-trail is an easier route near the competition area.
All three distances have both start- and finish lines at the competition area in Bomarsund.

The MENU for Käringsund Triathlon 2025!

Let´s have a look at the menu for Käringsund Triathlon 2025;

Friday 22.8:
* Östersjö - stafetten/ relay
* Short supersprint - competition 13-15 yes and open class (all ages)

Saturday 23.8:
* 1/2 distance - competition
* Open Water challenge - competition
* Minitriathlon - for toddlers and kids 9-11
* Sprint - competition (17 and general) and open class

A tip!
Everybody can do the short supersprint (relay or individual) on Friday as an "appetizer" and then add on courses for Saturday!
Remember that you can make Saturday into a "two course"- day if you first do the open water challenge in the morning and then a sprint in the afternoon! You get this combo at a reduced price 👍

It´s time to sign up for one, two or maybe a three course event in Käringsund in August!
