We love all the schools we do, from discos to events (7 schools in the last week).
One school really stands out
(yes we’re biased).

Primary health week included inflatables, trip to trampoline park, building shelters and even a wrestling ring in the hall for the older children to watch a live wrestling match, these are just a few things the school did for there students.

The staff and head (we have seen 3 amazing headmasters) all have the children and parents best interests foremost.

A school we have done for over 20yrs and is really close to our hearts.

Today was a lovely surprise for yr6 leavers.

Yr6 parents, it’s the last 3 Fridays in August 13:00-16:00hrs 🤫
(We will announce officially when we are allowed)

80 years ago today, many people showed great courage to free their country and make it safer for all.

Today, we post this as a sign of respect for their efforts, and suffering, which saved many life’s back home, they were and still are, All Hero’s.

The 6th of June 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, when Allied forces mounted the largest amphibious invasion the world has ever witnessed. In 1944, Operation Overlord saw over 5,000 ships and landing craft set down more than 130,000 troops on five Normandy beaches in an action that would bring about the liberation of north-west Europe.

A big thank you to all who attended
Show & Tell at bitts park yesterday.

We must also say congratulations to Stephen Dunn Helen Fisher, James Burke and the rest of the volunteers at Carlisle Matters for the organisation of the event, also Cumberland Council for their help and support.

The event was aimed at bringing families together with fun free things to see and do and also get involved, with the weather on side it was brilliant.

Thank you North Cumbria Search and Rescue for teaching the children and many adults CPR and letting them sit in a rescue boat (they also provided the on site first aid).

We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed attending.

🤫 (there’s another one but bigger 😁)

And that's a wrap! 🎉
The team has finished the packdown after a long but fantastic weekend. The sun was relentless ☀️, but we persevered, and we hope you had as much fun attending the event as we did organising it! 😃

It's truly incredible what our small team accomplished this weekend. The event exceeded our expectations, but the real stars of the show are each and every one of the 4,000+ of you who came out to enjoy a day in the park with us. 🌳🎈

A special thanks to Cumberland Council for the use of the park and their support in making this event a reality, and to Rock With for curating the afternoon's musical spectacle! 🎵🎸

Here's a picture taken shortly after the event opened, before we were absolutely inundated with visitors. We would have loved to get one when the event was at its peak, but unfortunately, it got a bit too busy for that! 📸👥

Thanks again to everyone who joined us—we couldn't have done it without you! 💖

See some of the team at show & tell tomorrow on bitts park.

Call over and say hello then try your skill at some of the things on offer for the kids both “big” and small 😁

It costs over £12,000 per year to keep our team operational, not including any replacement equipment or vehicle repairs, that's about £35 per day, every day.

If around 280 people donated the equivalent of a take away coffee every month (based on £3.75 per coffee), we would cover these costs.

Your support will be gratefully received, no matter how small or large. Why not replace one of your monthly take away coffees, with a regular monthly donation to us.

Please visit our donate page on our website to see how you can donate to us … https://www.ncsar.uk/donate/

Alternatively, if you would like to help fundraise for us, perhaps by hosting a donation tin or doing a sponsored event, please get in touch.

This morning we did a Site survey for this SUNDAYS Show & Tell event and wow, you wanna see the lineup of family things to see and do.

Our local Rescue team North Cumbria Search and Rescue will be there with one of the Rescue boats for your little ones to dress up and be at the helm in the Rescue boat also some skills for them to try.

And the chance for them to pretend to be a crane driver courtesy of Story.

With over 40 stalls from all different organisations and volunteers services to a funfair ride and many inflatables, also under 5yrs only inflatable.

The weather looks good so make the most of a free family day out with the little ones.

Eden whippy ice cream and Kirbside burgers to keep them tummies from rumbling.

Local acts on stage all afternoon to keep you entertained, a show area and plenty of space for a picnic and a pint from the on-site bar.

Arts and crafts, build and play what are your little ones going to choose first.

Walk along the path covered in YARN and POM POM covered trees, that’s right knitting and crochet galore.

This is one of many family fun things to do in carlisle brought to you from Carlisle Matters
And Cumberland Council

Have fun everyone

Please note parking to the rear of bitts park will be closed.

NCSAR is based in Carlisle but at the heart of cumbria.

Yesterday eight of our newest members completed their final day of their Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician course.

The day, held at Backbarrow on the River Leven introduced them to the more technical aspects of working in and around water. These members now take us to 30 qualified water rescue personnel based in Carlisle supporting the local community.

We rely on the goodwill of businesses and members of the public to sustain our charity and keep it operational. For more information about NCSAR or to donate, please visit our website ... https://www.ncsar.uk/
