Publicity card from Chiltern Radio days in the eighties ! People used to ring up and ask for signed ones. You never heard from them ever again !
( The voice they heard on air didn’t match the image in their imagination lol !) Face for radio joke !

It was a pleasure to catch up with Vince again as he has a new single out 'Passing By' inspired by his time during the Pandemic as a Festival Barista!
Vince tells me how that all came about and I play a bit of the song for you in the interview.
Vince is touring with Scouting For Girls (2024) and he tells me what that is like, and he has some very good advice for fellow musicians about how to interact with fans and audiences that is well worth taking on board.

One of the nicest people I've interviewed and I've interviewed thousands.
Chesney Hawkes chats to me about 'that' song which catapulted him to fame aged only 19, ( I play a few seconds of it to remind you!) and what he's been up to since then.
His new single 'Get a Hold of Yourself' is awesome and as you will hear it's produced by the best too. I play some of it for you in the interview.

A pleasure to talk to the one and only Nick Battle - he is one of those people who has so much experience in the music industry it's difficult to know where to start!

In the seventies he was bass and violin player in the band 'After The Fire' and since then he's run his own record business with a long list of impressive clients including George Benson, Sir Cliff Richard, Englebert Humperdink, Simon Fuller
( Spice Girls ), and had his songs recorded by the likes of Michael Ball, Sir Cliff, Natasha Bedingfield, Gary Barlow and David Grant to name just a few.

Impressive eh? Anyway Nick has just released an album 'Audience of One' and a single from it ' Keepers of The Flame' which I play a bit of for you in the interview.
As you can imagine it's very well produced!
We chat about how he got started in the music business and of course I ask Nick if he could he give some advice to anyone setting out in the scary music business. He has very good points worth taking on board!

Andras Droppa is a Heavy rock & Blues guitarist singer songwriter who straight out of university more or less went on the road! With Hungarian and North Devon roots his music is amazing and he tells me how it all started.
His band is on a massive tour of the UK - 'The Painted Ladies Tour' which is also the title of a track he has recently released. I play a bit of it for you - turn the volume up as that's how all heavy rock should be listened to !
Andras has some different and valuable advice for other musicians in the interview, well worth taking on board.

A first for Music Stories I think, an interview with another DJ !
Of course Pete Sherriff and I have a lot in common and could have talked for weeks! In fact there will be a Part 2 interview as he has so many interesting and inspirational stories to tell.
My wife Emma and I watched Pete very professionally DJ and Compare at a festival in the summer, I was so impressed with his personality and professionalism I had to try and track him down for an interview!
We talk about how he started at school ( same as me) and he has stories about his time at clubs, including The Dome in Birmingham - where Emma used to go as a young woman to dance to his tracks! Small world!
Pete is a lovely bloke as you will hear and he has some excellent advice for DJs trying to make it, and even more advice for bands performing at festivals which he has vast experience of!
