The Academy, amongst the forerunners in Bangalore, promoting Indian Classical Performing Arts, celebrated its 400th concert in February,2014. The Academy has been organising, unfailingly for the past 22 years, monthly concerts by leading and upcoming South Indian Artists. The Academy is well known for the unique thematic programmes it conducts, in addition to the Aradhana Mahotsava Saptaha in Jan

uary every year. Jugalbandhis, Vocal and Instrumental Duets, Instrumental Ensembles, Raga-Tana-Pallavi concerts organised by the Academy are well received. The Academy has the unique distinction of producing and releasing a CD of compositions of Karnataka Mahila Vaggeyakaras sung by senior Vidushis. This project is the first of its kind in the history of Carnatic music. The Academy conducts all its programmes at the at the cultural hall of Sree Ramana Maharshi Academy for the Blind in JP Nagar.

To all members, patrons and music enthusiasts:

Greetings from BTMCA! We are in the midst of the second wave of the pandemic, and we hope all of you are safe and healthy and taking all required precautions to protect yourself from Covid 19.

We had originally planned to resume our programs from the month of April 2021. However, the current situation does not allow the same. Hence we have cancelled programs until end of June 2021. Based on further developments, we will revert with a plan to resume programs once the situations improves.

We are truly blessed to have such a community of music lovers supporting us in these difficult times! We have received donations from some of our patrons - even though the current situation does not allow for resumption of the programs immediately. We thank you for your continued support. Be assured that we will resume our regular schedule of programs as soon as the situation allows us to do so.

Our Story

BTM Cultural Academy was founded with a vision to promote Indian Classical Music and Dance. Located in South Bangalore, the academy is one of the prime organisations in Bangalore's cultural scene. Since April 1992, the Academy has been organising monthly music concerts by leading and upcoming artists. Having started with one concert a month, it is now organizing nearly Twenty five concerts a year. These also include a few Classical Dance programmes and also Hindustani Music concerts. The Academy had held over 500 concerts by January 2017!

The Academy organises special thematic concerts perodically in addition to the Aradhana mahotsava sapthaha in January every year. Jugalbandhis, Vocal and Instrumental duets, Instrumental ensembles, Ragam-thanam-pallavi concerts arranged by the Academy are well received.

The Academy has also been invited to co-host programmes along with many other Cultural organisations in view of our standing in this field. Such programmes include Music therapy, Felicitation to great artists, Yuva sangeethothsava, Music concerts, etc.

The Academy had the unique distinction of producing and releasing a CD of compositions of Karnataka mahila vaggeyakars sung by Senior mahila vidushis. This project was the first of its kind in the history of Carnatic music.
