📣 Fall Athletes – Schedule Your Physical ASAP!

If you’re planning to participate in a fall sport, make sure you get your physical scheduled and completed as soon as possible.

🛑 No physical = No practice

The IHSAA requires a minimum number of practices before you’re eligible to compete in games, matches, or meets. Don’t let paperwork keep you off the field or court!

💥 Summer Strength, Speed & Explosion Training Update 💥

We just wrapped up Week 3 of summer training, and we’re seeing some serious progress from our athletes who continue to show up and put in the work. Strength, speed, and confidence are building💪🔥

This summer has been one of the best in terms of athlete representation across multiple sports programs at South Newton — and we’ve even had several coaches in the weight room working alongside and supporting our athletes. That kind of camaraderie and commitment builds the athletic culture we want here — where athletes and coaches push, encourage, and show up for each other.

That said — we still have MANY student-athletes who haven’t made it to a single workout this summer. Let’s change that. We have one of the best weight rooms for a school our size, and it’s here for YOU.

Lifting weights is one of the most beneficial things you can do to improve athletic performance — no matter your sport. It boosts strength, power, speed, confidence, and helps prevent injuries.

Choose Your Hard 💪

Showing up for workouts all summer isn’t easy. The lifts are tough. The reps are heavy. The early mornings test your mindset.

But here’s the truth: you get to choose your hard.

Skipping workouts? That’s hard too — when the season comes and you’re not ready.
Falling behind your competition? That’s hard.
Watching someone else take your spot? That’s hard.

So choose the hard that makes you better.
Choose the hard that builds strength, confidence, and resilience.
Choose the hard that your future self will thank you for.

We’re proud of those putting in the work this summer — it’s not supposed to be easy. Growth never is.

🔥 Week 1 of Summer Workouts is in the Books! 🔥

We kicked off the summer strong with 48 athletes showing up, working hard, and setting the tone for what's possible. At South Newton, we believe that showing up consistently doesn’t just build better athletes—it builds a stronger school and community.

By the Numbers:
👟 37 Female Athletes | 11 Male Athletes
✅ 12 Seniors
✅ 11 Juniors
✅ 8 Sophomores
✅ 13 Freshmen
✅ 4 Middle School/Elementary Athletes

We currently have 131+ returning athletes from last year’s rosters. That means we’re seeing about 37% participation so far.

Summer Workouts Start TODAY.
This is more than just lifting weights, running sprints, or stretching muscles.

This is about building a culture—
A culture of accountability, toughness, and growth.
As athletes. As a team. As an athletic department.

Over the next two months, we’ve got 24 scheduled workout days—some with multiple opportunities to get better. Every one of them is a chance to invest in yourself, your teammates, and the future of our program.

These sessions aren’t labeled “mandatory.”
But they reveal who’s committed.
They show who’s willing to lead, to grind, and to grow when no one’s watching.

This is where we lay the foundation for everything we want to become—
As individuals, as individual programs, and as SOUTH NEWTON!

Summer Workouts Begin Monday, June 2nd

Coaches from multiple programs have collaborated to create a structured and balanced summer schedule for our student-athletes. This schedule is designed to help athletes develop not only sport-specific skills, but also improve overall strength, speed, agility, and athleticism.

Below is the combined calendar with all workout sessions (we believe everything is included!).

💪 Max Out Week Highlights! 💪

Our Elective PE and Freshmen students just wrapped up strength testing in Power Clean, Bench Press, Parallel Squat, and Deadlift—and the results speak for themselves!

We tracked each student’s Strength Index (total weight lifted ÷ bodyweight) and how many Personal Records (PRs) they hit. At South Newton, our strength standards are:

➡️ 6.0x Bodyweight for Boys
➡️ 4.1x Bodyweight for Girls
