We have wonderful vendors come together for a Designer's challenge for magazine. Alittle inside story, this shoot was shot on Monday, April 8th, the same day when we had the Solar eclipse. How wonderful is that?

We worked together to bring out the vibrant colors of the galaxy, from the little details on the invitation to the texture of the tablecloth, the beauty of the flowers and the cake. Every detail was thought of and chosen carefully to highlight the beauty of the galaxy.

I had the opportunity to be part of the Exclusive Vendor Showcase at last week alongside other great decorators. The experience was one I will never forget. I met with old friends and made new friends, and this by far was one of the best networking events I have been part of. I am looking forward to an epic 2024.

INTRODUCTION WEDNESDAY 🩷
I see I have new followers and it's a good time to introduce myself. I am Bukky Garcia, the owner and creative director of Exquisite Events and Floral Design. Few things about being an entrepreneur and my mindset and how I became successful making 6 figures.

1. DETERMINATION. I quit my job to focus on my business 8 years ago and all I had was a business plan and Determination to make this business work. I knew I wanted more than just waking up and working for another company. Today, I am thankful to be named "1 of 12 Black business owner in Chicago leading the wedding industry" by The Knot.

2. HUMILITY. Being humble goes a long way. I looked up to others in my industry and also others. Learned the best ways to succeed in this business. In return, I made alot of meaningful friendships in the industry that have helped me grow and be successful.

3. HARDWORK. If hardwork was a person, it would say, I have surpassed being a hard worker 🤣. I worked 2x as much to make sure that my today is different, promising!

4. COMMUNITY. Having a community is key to a successful business. I am thankful to my community and positive people in my life.

Happy Tuesday Instagram family! It's been awhile since I introduced myself especially to my new followers. My name is Bukky Garcia, the creative mind behind Exquisite Events and Floral Design. I started my business about 8 years ago and boy do I understand what hard work and dedication really means. Since 2016, I have had the pleasure to decorate/plan over 200 weddings, got featured on several magazines/blogs, and won many awards. Through dedication, hard work, and PASSION, I was able to persevere during difficult and challenging times.

Many years back, I graduated with a master’s degree in gerontology and hospice care, a health-based career with the hope I will work in a hospital alongside doctors while helping my patients transition gracefully through the final days of their lives. I quickly realized after planning my own wedding that my calling was different. I saw the need to help brides transition through the planning process and making their wedding day an enjoyable experience. I realized that from helping hospice patients during their saddest days, to helping couples through their happiest days, in both phases of life, I am helping my clients’ transition into a new stage of their lives. Every day, I am motivated by my husband and children who continuously help me see through life's ups and downs.

I love to travel with family; I love shopping, I love exploring new restaurants, and most of all, I love God.
