Recently did these Quinceañera pre shoot photos at the La Quinta Resort. I had no idea this place was so beautiful. I had a great time exploring this place with Quince and her family and taking some amazing photos for them. I think it’s great to shoot at a familiar place but when you shoot somewhere new you get to flex your creative muscle.

I still haven’t wrapped my brain around how amazing this journey has been for my friends Ken and Alexis. We first met because Ken had the craziest idea for a proposal in one of the more technical mountains near Convict Lake. He needed a photographer to match his level of skill and crazy and to also have the photographic ability to capture the special moment.

We set out on our mission and succeeded. The proposal went amazing, so amazing that we actually kept in touch and decided to return to the mountain again for a fall summit. They also hired me to capture their beautiful Convict Lake engagement photos which has to be up there as one of my all time favorite photo shoots. I am an absolute sucker for mountains.

Fast forward to last month when I had the incredible opportunity to be their wedding photographer. On their wedding day I felt a sort of dream like state, it was surreal. I realized that these two wonderful friends of mine had chosen me to capture their most precious moments together. It really hit me when I saw them both together for the first time during their first look. It was beautiful and reinforced to me the amazing things I get the opportunity to witness as a photographer. I have the front row seat to true love, to happiness and to the commitments that couples make to each other.

In summary, I’m so happy for them, they’re an amazing couple, truly made for each other. Their wedding was gorgeous and took place in one of the loveliest venues you’ll see. Congratulations to my friends Ken and Alexis, and thank you for giving me the pleasure of being there to witness your love together.

Emily’s XV Pre-Shoot was a lot of fun. A lot of her family came through to help with her dress and just to be a part of the experience. It was great talking to them about photography and why I was choosing the spots I was choosing for her photos. My favorite part is when I bring out my 70-200 zoom lens and I stand really far back to capture the shots. I feel like everyone thinks I’m too far but then they see the photos and are in awe.

I am very grateful for all the gear that I have at my disposal and also grateful to have the abilities to execute my visions.

I vividly remember the first time I visited Yosemite National Park 6 years ago. I remember a transcendent and spiritual connection I felt, a pull to it, I felt at home. I knew important things were happening inside me and I knew Yosemite would hold a special place in my heart forever.

When I met Samantha, I met a person that mirrored that same influence and change inside of me like I felt in Yosemite. I felt Sam was my home, that I had an important piece to my life’s puzzle. I am complete.

Naturally, it’s been a dream of mine to combine my love for both in a magical way. Two days ago that wish came true as I set out to photograph our engagement shoot myself. It was an adventure setting up the tripod and timer but I’m blown away by the magic we created. I love our life together Samantha and I can’t wait to marry you.

I guess you can say I lean towards the dramatic some times.
