The Flack Racing team, with driver Dan Kapuscinski, will focus on a condensed schedule in the Small Block Super division in 2025. Currently the team plans to compete in both Small Block Super events at Evans Mills Raceway Park, with a schedule of at least four events at Oswego Speedway.

Since 2021, Flack Racing has collected 17 wins in the Small Block Super division along with two Oswego Speedway track championships, two Small Block Super Championship Series titles and the 2022 Bud Light SBS Classic at Oswego.

The Burris Weekly Championship Series champion's trophies will be available for pickup at the Expo on March 8-9 at the Weedsport Speedway booth. We will award them on March 9, if you are available to stop by.

As a reminder, the Weedsport Kartway awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 9 at the Syracuse Motorsports Expo inside the Center of Progress building on the NYS Fairgrounds. Please join us on Sunday March 9th at 1:00pm in the annex room of the building.

JASON SIMMONS RACING TO FIELD SECOND OSWEGO SUPERMODIFIED ENTRY FOR 350 CHAMPION JOSH SOKOLIC

DKMP - FULTON, NY (January 21, 2025) – The Jason Simmons Racing supermodified stable will increase to two weekly entries in 2025 at Oswego Speedway as Josh Sokolic will join JSR as a teammate to defending International Classic champion, Tyler Thompson.

Sokolic, who ranks as the winningest 350-Supermodified driver in Oswego Speedway’s history, is a two-time champion of the division and recently made three successful starts for JSR in ISMA Supermodified competition.

Driving the No. 98 in relief of Thompson, Sokolic ended 2024 with finishes of third and second at Evans Mills Speedway before collecting another runner-up at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC as part of the North-South Shootout.

Sokolic will pilot a former John Nicotra Racing machine secured by JSR as he takes on Oswego looking to join Mike Bruce as the only drivers to win main events in all three of the speedway’s weekly divisions.

“It is clear Josh has the talent to be a supermodified winner at Oswego,” said JSR team owner, Jason Simmons. “We believe with the right resources Josh can be a weekly front runner and ultimately can work with Tyler and the team as a whole to work toward our overall goal of an Oswego track championship for JSR.”

Since 2019, Jason Simmons Racing has secured a total of 12 supermodified victories with wins in some of the division’s biggest events including the International Classic, Mr. Supermodified and the Shampine Memorial. However, despite three consecutive year end points finishes in the top five, including a third in 2023, a track title looms large for the team.

With the combined resources between two of the most prolific young drivers at Oswego in recent years, the 2025 season no doubt shows promise and excitement for the speedway’s latest supermodified newcomer.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with Jason and his crew this year,” said Sokolic. “They made it very easy on me last year to move into a new setting and I look forward to working with the team and bettering myself as a driver and extending my knowledge of the car itself. I cannot thank Jason and the crew enough and look forward to 2025.”

Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified season will kick off on Saturday, May 31 with the running of the Jim Shampine Memorial.

Brianne will continue her racing efforts at the Syracuse Microd Club in 2025, competing in the Jr. Novice Microd division. Last year, Brianne celebrated a victory as part of the Super DIRT Week special held inside Oswego Speedway’s pit area. The Microd and Quarter Midget event, which served as a kickoff to the biggest week of dirt racing in the region, highlighted the skills and camaraderie of the youth racing community.

With her win, Brianne and Brian became the first father/daughter duo to ever win main events inside the famed steel walls at Oswego Speedway.

Father Brian Sobus has won multiple main events at Oswego Speedway, most recently in the winged 350-Supermodified division. In 2025, Brian will look to take on the world of asphalt Sportsman Modified racing, while also returning to Oswego in the 350-Supermodified division for select events.

The Burris Series championship trophies were hand delivered last week - and they look great! We will be reaching out to champions next week to determine pickup - as frankly, I am afraid to ship them 😅

Also - Kurt Burris has been in touch and told me that instead of certificates they plan to send everyone 2025 tires. So, they will be going out the end of January, along with champion jackets.

NEARLY $8,000 IN AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED TO TOP POINT EARNERS IN BURRIS RACING WEEKLY CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

WEEDSPORT, NY (November 19, 2024) – Nearly $8,000 in awards are set to be distributed to the top 25 drivers that took part in the inaugural Burris Racing Weekly Championship Series in 2024.

Series champions Colin Spatorico, Seth Whitney, Mike Halbert, Harloe Russell, Luke Holmes, Laina Stewart, Jenson Cook and Karson Harvey will each receive a Burris Racing championship jacket, a full set of Burris Racing tires, as well as a custom championship trophy.

Runner-up finishers Mike Seefeldt, Ben Walsh, Ron Bliven, Eli Reid, Mason Rogers, Levi Herriven, Aideen Rusnock and Aiden Stewart will all receive a full set of Burris Racing tires.

Third place finishers Trent Smith, Brayden Bills, Josh Kennell, Russell Trickey, Jack Reid, Mason Sharts, Jax Cotriss, Tyler Moden and Genavieve Bartlett will also receive a set of right-side Burris Racing tires.

Burris Racing tire certificates will be mailed in the coming days with jackets and trophies to follow when completed.

In an effort to help reconnect weekly karting facilities, Dan Kapuscinski Motorsports Promotions and Burris Racing partnered to debut the Burris Racing Weekly Championship Series in 2024 with more than 620 entries scoring points.

With the introduction of the Burris Racing Weekly Championship Series, drivers at Burris Racing facilities had the opportunity to score points throughout the season in order to see how they ranked against other drivers in the region.

The new weekly series, which mimics that of the Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship facilitated by DIRTcar, required that drivers support local Burris tire tracks in the region.

Points were awarded based on a driver’s best 12 finishes at any participating Burris facility. Points were awarded based on the number of karts starting a feature race, with up to 16 karts being counted. Race winners were awarded 2 points per kart, with a maximum of 32 points going to a winner.

Participating tracks included Allegany Memorial Speedway, Brockville Ontario Speedway Karting, Can-Am Speedway, Lebanon Valley Speedway, Merrittville Speedway, Moose Mountain Racing Club, Ransomville Speedway, Turkey Trot Raceway and Weedsport Kartway.

State series points were only awarded to divisions competing as a points class at each facility. Points were not earned for PRO events.
